Grace's Trattoria — Restaurant in New York

First night I went there was with a friend who had the groupon coupon. She ordered the cowboy steak and did not realize it was saturated with a sauce and was not to happy with it. I ordered the filet of sole...it was passable. I again was invited by another friend who had a groupon. This time I ordered the cowboy steak without the sauce (med.rare). The steak was so bad. It was dry and I could not eat it.The waiter said if I had ordered it with the sauce it would not be dry, but the meat was BAD. The third time a friend went there with her boyfriend who ordered this steak. After one bite he sent it back and lost his appetite and would not order anything else. The mussels were...

This place is so cool. Maybe 10 bar stools in the middle of a grocery store and you watch the chefs cook everything. Chef Joe is great — asked if I wanted to add anything to my branzino (I chose capers) and offered free mashed potatoes to everyone at the bar when they made too many. They seem to have a loyal crowd, highly recommend...

Sunday evening dinner there was marred by the number of kids that were inside. Probably half the place was under 12. I kept expecting to see crayons and a talking rat. Pasta was good.
