Hudson VU has only been open for a few months, but is already creating a buzz and it is well-deserved. The view of the Hudson River and the cityscape is spectacular, especially during the twilight and at night. It was a bit breezy on the night we went, but they provided us with blankets. Everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely, relaxing, taking in the sights and taking pictures. The vibe was very laid back.
The service and the food were excellent! The staff were very attentive, from our server, Denai to the managers to the bussers. They didn't hover but were always aware of our potential needs. We didn't have to wait long for the food, either, which was great, because we were hungry.
We ordered the Birdcage, the Little Gem Salad, the Honey Roasted Carrots, and the Corn Ribs. It was all delicious. The flavors of the different dishes just came together. The carrots were a delightful surprise - they had a kick of heat which was softened by the cheese on the bottom of the bowl, which you don't see until you start eating the carrots.
We also ordered drinks, some mocktails and cocktails. I have been in search of a great mojito and their bartender did not disappoint. We also ordered dessert - the Banana Mille-Feuille and the passion fruit and raspberry sorbets. Again, just mouthwateringly delicious! The passion fruit sorbet tasted exactly like the fruit itself.
It was just a wonderful evening all around. I couldn't have asked for better service. I would give my entire experience more than five stars if that was an option. Shout out to Denai, our server, who made our experience as wonderful as it was. She's phenomenal! Shout outs to the managers, Daniel and Sal, who also made our evening fantastic! I'm definitely looking forward to going...
Read moreStunning Views with STUNNINGLY Bad Service! You'd think it'd be hard to mess up a rooftop with such a beautiful setting but somehow, Ink 48 has done it again. Hudson VU is nothing more than a rebranded Press Lounge, which was notorious for its poor service and overpriced drinks. Sadly, the name is the only thing that's changed.
We were seated and waited 25 minutes without being greeted, only finally getting attention when I got up and found a staff member myself. I even brought it to a manager's attention, and she did absolutely nothing to assist or rectify the situation. From the time we were seated to when we got our first drinks (just a beer and three wines), nearly 40 minutes had passed.
What should you expect: -$15 beers -$20 appetizers that are barely more than a bite -A side of arrogance you wouldn't even find at a Michelin-starred spot
I live in the neighborhood and swore off this place years ago. The rebrand piqued my interest, but it was a mistake to return. Hudson VU clearly caters to unsuspecting out-of-towners, charging high prices while delivering subpar service.
If you're looking for a roof experience that actually delivers on its promise of ambiance and service, head to The Peak instead. Hudson VU is just a renamed disappointment, still playing by the same playbook that shut them down the first time.
If you go, keep your expectations low and be prepared to spend $75-$100 per person for slow service, tiny portions, and a side...

My wife's birthday called for something truly special, and HudsonVu delivered beyond our expectations. From the moment we stepped onto the rooftop, we were captivated by the electric yet sophisticated atmosphere--soft lighting, chic decor, and an unbeatable energy that made the evening feel like a celebration in itself.
We indulged in the famous Birdcage--a showstopper both in presentation and flavor. Each bite was a perfect balance of textures, and the accompanying spicy sauce added a delicious kick that left us craving more. The cocktails were equally impressive--crafted with precision, beautifully presented, and bursting with bold, refreshing flavors that paired perfectly with our meal.
But the real star of the night? The breathtaking Manhattan skyline stretching out before us. There's nothing quite like sipping a expertly mixed drink while taking in those iconic views--it elevated the entire experience into something magical.
The service was impeccable--attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming--which only added to the joy of the evening.
Without a doubt, HudsonVu has secured its place as one of our favorite spots in the city. We'll absolutely be back--whether for another special occasion or just because the rooftop alone is worth the visit!...
