We booked a New Year's celebration party and the reality was nothing like the description! it was advertised as the 5th Annual Gatsby's House Party, having 2 areas of excitement (there were VIP tickets that include both, which we got). 'Amazing countdown', 'the best countdown at a NYC Nighclub'. '5 hour premium open bar'; 'Multiple areas to find the perfect atmosphere'; 'Elevated VIP Section; 'Outside smoking patio'; 'VIP Dom Perignon Table Packages'. Reality: no rooftop, only one floor open, the second was under construction. The smoking patio location: go back with the elevator and outside the building. The 'areas of excitement' were one simple hall with a bar, a few tall cocktail tables, a few sitting tables (those were the VIP bottle packages) and one cheap white tent with a small bar. The tent was horrible - no decoration, white, nylon, bad for the pictures. At least there was a picture place with a black background and golden letters, where it was packed with drunk teenagers. The whole place was not classy and stylish at all - more like teenage party - they charge like hundreds dollars per person and serve in plastic glasses! This I cannot forgive. the elevated VIP section was a table at the end of the hall on the little club stage. The line for the restroom was around 30 minutes all the time and the line goes in the hall, in front of the VIP Section, along the tables. I wonder what more did we get than the people who did not pay the VIP ticket, but the whole thing is total scam - when I got back home, I checked the tickets and, of course, there was nothing specified, it just says the amount and the letters VIP. Nothing you can relate to afterwards. The bar was actually open til 1 am and surprisingly, there was no scam here - you could go and get drinks for free. The bartender inside was inadequate however - we asked for 2 whiskeys and were asked like 3 times what we want the whiskey with, we said nothing, he kept asking waht we want him to put with the whiskey and we were like Nothing, just whiskey - in the end he still poured some whiskey in the largest plastic cups and filled them with ice to the top?! We were shocked! We were tourists in NYC and got the tickets in JUN, went shopping in NYC especially for the 20s outfits and were totally...
Read moreRegistered online for this party last night, it stated guys reduced price and ladies free until 1am. I got there at 12, they held the line so we didn’t get in until 12:40 AM. Upon entering, lady says 20 for females 30 for guys. I showed her the email and she says show the guy at the door. Go back and the guy at the door was nowhere to be found. Some other guy just said if you don’t have a ticket you have to pay. Crazy part is, it says free before 1 AM. We decided to go in because we were there for a friends birthday. They also pick and choose who they let in. They told these two guys they could not get in because they had on t shirts and sneakers, well upon entering there were patrons in sneakers, T-shirts, fitted hats, I even saw a guy in a sports jersey. Drink was overpriced and the bouncers here are very rude. I went to the bar and the bar was full of people. I could not get a drink because of it, I saw a open section of the bar guarded by a bouncer and I asked can I just squeeze by you and get a drink. He says no and points me to the crowded bar section. I didn’t argue and said okay cool because it’s not that serious. Get two drinks and they are overpriced. Two drinks for 30 dollars. After bringing my fiancé her drink, I see a female patron slide right behind the bouncer and buy a drink. Bouncer walked up to my fiancé and I and just said, “move” so they could fit a guy in a wheelchair where we were. I will not be returning to this...
Read moreIf you want to be profiled by racist Italians this is the place for you.Ironically enough they allow talented black celebrities that will garner them money & " cool points" by relevancy/association. (This is literally the only thing that holds them a float, the service is poor and there are better clubs in the city with better vibes overall).
While being disrespectful to black men and women at the door..especially towards the women. Ive never had an issue with the security guards, they are professional.
Separately there are Italian men( emphasizing Italian because thats they only way in which I can identify them) ranging from college age to mid thirties/late forties who give out wrist bands and also facilitate who gets to get in or not. Charging or denying black people while allowing yt people in. I understand the nature of a club, so no they were not unattractive poorly dressed etc. Ive seen them deny black models, actors etc. while allowing yt women in who look like nonnas.
Ive spoken to SEVERAL people who have expressed their same experience. I wish I could say this was a one time ordeal
I suggest they fix the way in which they speak to patrons so they aren't putting themselves or security guards at risk... Being condescending , rude, passive aggressive or saying racial slurs under their breath is unacceptable.
I see a class action lawsuit in their...
