On May 17th we purchased a certified preowned (CPO) 2022 Cadillac Escalade for $92, 000. We bought the SUV from Cadillac of Manhattan. We were told it had a clean Carfax and no accidents. This was our number one priority going and prompted us to proceed with the deal to purchase the vehicle. We did not notice the color difference and paint defect in the dimly lit indoor tunnel structure, that Cadillac of Manhattan uses to deliver vehicles to customers. So, this went unnoticed by us. We did inspect for what we considered to be common items like tires, engine lights, cracked glass/mirrors, abnormal sounds during engine idle both from outside and inside.
On May 19th, we took the vehicle to get a quote for a full and complete detail to include ceramic coating. The detailing tech who inspected the vehicle to give us the quote gave us horrible news. He informed us that the paint of the right side of the vehicle does not match the rest of the vehicle. He further surmised, that this may have been due to repairs made after an accident. This was never disclosed to us by Cadillac of Manhattan. Even still to this day, they are denying it. We were advised to take the vehicle to an autobody shop for a more thorough and professional inspect of the discrepancy.
To further compound on what we had already been told, the autobody shop found far more discrepancies with the paint and body work that was previously done. We were told by the autobody shop that the:
¡ Right front bumper was shoddily repainted.
¡ Right back door was shoddily repaired and repainted.
¡ The right fender was shoddily repainted.
In fact, the paint job was so bad that the color difference could easily be noticed by the autobody tech. He also specified bubbling of the paint in the repainted areas which to him indicated rust forming under the repainted surface. These issues, especially the rust if left untreated, can lead more expensive repairs in the future, adding to a greater and more rapid devaluation of our investment.
We believe that Cadillac of Manhattan knew of these issues and neglected to inform us. How could they not know? After all a Cadillac 172 CPO inspection would have discovered all the discrepancies mentioned above.
On May 24th I returned the vehicle to the dealership. I was told that Iâd already signed the papers and it was my problem to deal with. This from a premier Cadillac dealership. After much back and forth, we agreed to take the vehicle if they fully pay for the repairs. They refused to cover the charges for a proper paint and corrosion repair at a repair shop we trust and know will do the job right. As at this point, I no longer trusted anyone at Cadillac of Manhattan to do the right thing. We have pictures that showed the difference in color and the shoddy repairs that were previously done to a vehicle that supposedly had never been in an accident. The only recourse that we sought was to have the dealership right an obvious wrong. Unfortunately, they were more interested in making a profit on the vehicle than fixing an issue they obviously knew about and making the...
Read moreCompletely dissatisfied with the horrible experience at this dealership! On 8/15/23, I placed a $500 deposit on a 2020 GMC Acadia after taking it on a satisfying long test drive on the Westside Highway. It drove beautifully and I agreed to pay full asking price. First issue was that they presented me with a contract to sign that had an additional $1295 for ceramic coating that was not a part of the original price that was agreed upon, nor was it ever mentioned. It took the salesman 2 visits into the manager's office to finally have this fee removed. I gave the $ 500 deposit, signed and arranged for a 8/22/23 pick up. I added the car to our insurance, my wife and I took the day off to again make the hour trip into Manhattan to pick up the car. We called to let the salesman know that we were on our way, only to be told that the car was not available for pick up, it was " making a noise" and went to the service department. You can only imagine our shock that we were never notified and a , "What happened???" moment. I left a message for the manager to call me and never received a call back. (To add insult to injury, this was supposed to be the car with all the safety features for our twin daughters to take out of state to college.) We were told by the salesman that we would hear from him when he knew anything. 9 days went by and I emailed him because I hadn't heard anything. He emailed that he'd have an update shortly and again, I heard nothing and I had to email 2 weeks later! Then I was told that this 2020 car with only 25,000 miles on it had major engine problems and GMC couldn't locate an engine for replacement!! I was to receive my $500 deposit back but that didn't happen either. I had to write a letter to GMC headquarters to eventually get the money back. The deceitful salesman even lied that the check had been sent prior to the letter to GMC headquarters. The problem was that the date he gave that the original check was sent was BEFORE the pick up date and alleged problem with the car! It was completely deceitful, unprofessional, disappointing and a huge waste of a lot of time with this dealership. Save yourself the aggravation...
Read morequickest purchase I ever made. walked in @ 10AM drove out at 12:11PM. Salesmen, finance and managerial team was professional, Sale manager was reasonable when it came down to the price point. Couldn't be happier. See you guys next year!!! My lease on my other vehicle is ending soon
I wanted to change my review.
My first Cadillac was in the New Location. I was welcomed by this young lady (her name fades me) and I turn around and Greg was right there, the first salesman i had the pleasure of meeting. He didn't asked me what kind of car I wanted, did I have a preference of Sadan or SUV, he asked me if I would like water or maybe coffee. I felt welcomed. He walked me around the dealership, showed me the (I believe it was a 1960) Classic Cadillac that's on display. We was have a general conversation on the history of General Motors, Cadillac to be specific. After a brief convo he asked me what brought me to Cadillac, 2 days later in drove out in a 2023 CT4. Salesmen, Finance department up to management treated me with Respect and honestly which I think most people who purchase vehicles know that is very hard to come by. They didn't try to sell me up, they gave me exactly what I wanted at a great price. Wonderful 2023 experience.
2024 I walk in again, some new faces but the same treatment. Greg sold me my 2024 LYRIQ, got me the price I wanted and packed up every once of savings I could have possibly asked for. This time though Greg Delivered the Vehicle to my home in NJ. Detailed beautifully. He Mae sure I knew everything their is to know about the vehicle, high lighted some of the features (because the LYRIQ is Electric) from this new concept of car(s) that Cadillac is bringing to us the consumers. Truthfully I would never go anywhere else. If you want a good deal on Luxury Cadillac of Manhattan is the...
