Read moreShowed up at 4pm with my fiance, just to try something new. Thought the atmosphere and decor was cozy and the food was decent, but that's about all it had going for it.
After being asked what we'd like to drink we both asked for waters with a lemon, simple enough. Waters came out promptly, lemons came about 15 minutes later when the waitress asked, "you wanted lemons, right?" I also asked for a refill about 10 minutes after we sat down, didn't receive the refill until we were almost finished.
That's strike one.
Now, after we were brought the waters we finally placed our orders. I ordered the shepherds pie and my fiance ordered the fish and chips. Despite the fact that the restaurant was pretty quiet with numerous empty tables, it took at least 30min for our food to finally arrive.
Strike two.
Before we were brought our food, the waitress asked if we would like some bread, to which we both said yes. When did the bread come? Halfway through our dinner. She asked us, "do you still want the bread?" to which I replied, "well, we did ask for bread, so yes". One we finally received the bread, it was cold and stale, like it had been sitting out.
That's strike three.
Never again will we go here. Go to Tir Na Nog instead. Much better experience. The shepherds pie wasn't even that great, at least not "$18 good". On top of all that, not ONCE did our waitress stop by and ask if the food was good or if we needed anything else.
I shouldn't be able to go to Applebee's or Friday's and get better service than I do at a small mid-tier restaurant...
Read moreI have been semi regularly coming to landmark for almost two years and on Monday’s.
The classic decor on the outside and from when you walk in the bar, you feel as if you stepped back in time to the late 1800’s when this bar was first established.
The dark decor give it a grimy but cool layout, Mondays, they usually have a band in the back playing Irish music.
Though this place is a bar, they have some solid food options. I usually get the fish & chips and to be honest, it’s amongst the best in the city. So much flavor and with a side of salad to keep it extra flavorful. The bangers and mash are also a bar classic if you’re more on the heavy side of a meal.
I am not a big beer drinker; however, when I go to Landmark, I must always get the “Landmark Ale”. It’s a perfect light side beer and just hits well after one of their classic meals.
Peter has been there for quite some time and usually looks out with a round on the house before I leave at the end of the night.
If you want to feel as if you’re stepping back in time, not be bothered and just enjoy a beer while watching a game? Head to Landmark. The draft beers, fish and chips do not disappoint and more importantly, it’s a price of NYC as well as Hell’s...
