DON'T COME HERE IF YOU AREN'T WHITE, YOU'LL GET DENIED SERVICE.

Denied service because "we are closed" despite a group of ten or so and an individual arriving after us and ordering beers with their cards. When I pressed further, the person behind the counter pulled the square payment terminals away and despite having seconds ago allowing a group to pay (that arrived a few minutes after).

I have never had this happen until today.

Edit: We arrived as a group approximately 15-30 minutes before midnight. When we arrived we sat down for 2 or 3 minutes, then I went to the bar counter to order. One of the bartenders looked at me and stated that they were closed. I sat back down for a minute, confused, and saw a female individual that appeared to already have been at the bar order and be served a beer. Within about a minute or so of that, the large group of ten-ish individuals entered the bar and a few of them were served drinks after paying with the square card readers being presented in front of them. After that, I figured I'd go back up and see if it was just a mistake. I asked if I could buy a drink, and the same bartender first said we're closed, I frustratedly responded saying that he had just (less than 1 minute before) served a group who paid, then he said "cash only" and grabbed the 3 square card readers and was moving them away.

My two issues with that is it was never mentioned that I apparently could, according to that bartender buy a beer if I had cash because they just said "we're closed" the first time, despite someone getting a drink right after, and the second time, unless I didn't see this correctly, and I'd gladly retract what I said if I'm wrong, but the group that entered after I already had been denied seemed to either pay with a card or were charged with the card readers.

All of this happened before midnight and multiple people were served after I asked, who had gone up to the bartender after me. Additionally, nobody in my group was intoxicated.

We weren't all...

Update for the owner: shame on me? Shame on you for your response! I visited in October 2021. What I experienced was real and how we were actually treated. Even if the guy wasn't Jeremy, he was still rude. We felt ignored and unwelcomed. The guy actually smirked and pretended he didn't understand my English. We saw other white males getting greeted and served with a smile! But here we were, two Asian females, and were ignored and treated rudely. So don't put this shame on me BS!

If you are a female and a female of color, please do yourself a favor and do not come here! We came here early on a weekday afternoon around 3pm and felt we were discriminated against. The guy working inside was extremely rude to us. And looking up the picture of the owner, he is probably the owner, Jeremy, himself. He repeatedly smirked at me and pretended he didn't understand me and asked me the same questions over and over. He made some snide comments when I closed my tab when he asked me where we were going and I said we were going somewhere else in the area.

He also tried to overcharge my credit card for an extra order of the Buffalo wings that we didn't order. Funny how he thought we ordered two when he was the one that handed the food to me. And mind you it was not busy on a weekday at 3pm and we left before 4! I sincerely hope it was a mistake and not done on purpose.

The wings had nice flavors but was soggy and soft. I like my chicken crispy. And there were tons of fruit flies at their outdoor dining tent! They were flying into our beer! Yuck!

Mind you the bras hanging off the ceiling didn't even bother us nor the strong stench. From the minute we walked in, we felt we were not welcomed. The only person that was somewhat friendly was the bartender. I would not return this...

For the record, I LOVE dives! If you're a dive lover like me, then you'll adore this place!

In an area where most bars are overpriced or average-priced, but swamped with tourists and yuppies, this place was a refreshing discovery. We walked by during the 4Knots Music Festival and the giant Styrofoam cups caught our attention. It was packed with Bros during the day so we didn't bother going in, but we did return later on that evening and had a blast!

The crowd around 7:00pm on a Saturday night was diverse. There were fresh of-drinking-agers whoo-hooing, old timers watching them, kids (yes, children) running around one table in the back, and then there was my table...tagging our names on a pipe and wondering if I should add my bra to their collection. I didn't ask, but if this dive is anything like most other dives with bra collections, then it means I can get free drinks all night if I give up my bra. Am I right? Anyone know?

They have a decent selection of drafts and bottles. Drafts were all priced by the pint or by the Styrofoam cup. What a deal?! They have amazing drink prices all night, not just for specified hours.

The bartender accidentally short-changed me. When I asked about it, he told me he thought I was drunk and wouldn't notice. I was totally sober at the time. Loved him!

I think they shut down at midnight. It was pretty empty, but they let us all just hang out.

Now, if they can complete the dive experience with a...

Can't rate the food because I didn't have any. I just stopped in for a beer and a Jameson. I got a kick out of the bras on the ceiling, it was different. It was very crowded but I managed to get a seat at the bar. The atmosphere seems like a small step up from a frat party. The price for the Heineken and Jameson wasn't bad for the area but more than I've paid at some other dive bars. It's a cool place to check out at The Seaport especially if you like a lively atmosphere.

I've been coming here in fits and starts for the last 25 years or so... even when it was at the prior "Mad Max style" location up the road. I never break the bank during my visits and I really have never lingered more than 2 hours, yet my friends and I always have an amazing time here and we end up meeting great people from around the globe. The staff are amazing as well. I actually intend on taking my kids here when they're of age in a few years. A truly original gem.

Great easy going bar. Very large food menu for the area and all surprisingly reasonably priced. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was excellent. It had two chicken cutlets slathered in buffalo sauce on really great hero bread. Loved the beer in the soup container. Great spot to grab some simple food and drinks. Will be frequenting more often. But if you want more of a home bar feel with super friendly staff just stick to fish market.
