La Familia — Restaurant in New York

I almost never do this, but this was asked for, last week I had the pleasure of going to this restaurant, while on my usual hour break, I’ve been having a craving for empanadas for a while , I ordered 2 chicken empanadas. for some reason it was taking forever to come out about 25 to 30 minutes to be exact no exaggeration. I finally get my order. Get to my car and decide to eat and drive on my way to the next hospital (I’m a emergency First responder for all the hospitals in the city of New York). As I bite into the empanadas I noticed something is very wrong this isn’t what I ordered. And I can’t make my way back to the restaurant because of my schedule. I immediately call them back and tell them they’ve made a mistake with my order. But I won’t be able to come back tonight. Waitress says ok. Now moving into today 3 days later I call back and ask them if they can have the order ready so I can pick’em up. And the waitress tells me No it’s been a whole week. I’m just dumbfounded. I ask to speak to a manager or her boss she proceeded to tell me that she was both. I said ok. I will never again spend money here again and tell everyone I know that lives in the area. How great your customer service is.

I hope a lot of people see this and take there money elsewhere it isn’t right to treat people how you want. You should always treat your customers the same no matter what...

I’m curious as to who runs this restaurant and why they thought it was okay to NOT train their staff. When I walked in the door one of the servers was on their phone, I was not greeted with a hello or anything. However, I usually look past these things and am not one to complain unless the service drops downhill from there! I ordered their meal which came with two options and I ordered my pernil with white rice and lentijas. When my plate came out my pernil was hard as ROCKS and then my white rice came out as yellow rice... because they didn’t have any more white rice left over... in a Hispanic restaurant where rice is the number one thing people usually get their MEAT with, why did they run so low? also when I asked where my lentijas were, one of the servers informed me that they never had it in the first place. So to my confusion why would the other waitress let me order it? Do these people not know their own menu? why are they working here? Honestly if the staff was more helpful, welcoming and knew how to do their job the hard, the over cooked food and wait time would have been no problem! I wouldn’t ever let anyone I know go here! And honestly I wouldn’t even consider coming back here if this was the only...

Oh man, came here before going to a local bowling spot and I am STUFFED. The portions are more than generous and the food itself is fresh and deliciously packed with flavor. If you're a lover of traditional Dominican or Spanish cuisine in general, this is a great place to go. There are a few booths in the front and larger tables in the back, so whether you're going on a date or hanging with a group, there's perfect seating.
