On The Rocks — Local services in New York

I follow the Instagram @ontherockswineandliquor and saw that this place had nice collectible bottles. I decided to make the trip out there from the Bronx and I did not regret it one bit. The owner Vickas is a delight. He's so knowledgeable when it comes to different types of liquors and brands (as I know nothing) and made sure I got the best quality whiskey. He did not rush me even though I asked a million question. He made sure he took his time to educate me with the differences. I walked out with 5 bottles. I purchased a Belle Meade Reserve (why I mainly went) because I went to Nashville and went to the actual plantation and did not get the bottle. Luckily, this store carried it. I also purchased 2 Hibiki as per his suggestion, 1 bottle of McCallan and 1 bottle of the Mezcal Clase Azul. These are going to be great presents. Thank you Vickas...

This review is solely because of how unprofessionally the owners replied to the latest review. Sure the guy was complaining abt pricing and I understand the liquor industry is tough for retailers as they’re dealing with huge price increases on top of having to carry thousands of products, but the level of unprofessionalism in that response is unacceptable and unbelievable. It goes to show the attitude in that environment. We support local stores but you can’t take advantage of us by berating us...

I lived in Brooklyn for a year and a half, and every time I went to On The Rocks, Vic and his staff treated me wonderful. They are all very knowledgeable and helpful. I really had some great conversations there, and there prices are great!! This place is top notch, and I am really going to miss it.

And don't forget, you can also play the lottery there!! What's better than that.
