I had an incredibly unpleasant experience for all the wrong reasons. As a tourist visiting NYC, I went to my first bar, expecting a warm welcome. Instead, I was met with sarcasm, insults, and condescension from a bartender named Matt. He arrogantly lectured us about needing to use passports instead of driver's licenses at bars, claiming they aren't valid. If that’s true, he also broke the law by serving me with that ID. He could have kindly informed us, but instead, he used the opportunity to inflate his own ego, acting as if he were some kind of savior, while being rude and dismissive.
After this, we ordered a drink, and since I had just arrived off a flight, I wasn't familiar with the tipping process—something that's not common in Australia. I made a mistake with the machine, intending to tip when we left. Rather than kindly explaining it to me, he went through his records, saw we hadn’t tipped because we didn’t realize it needed to be done through the machine, and then proceeded to scold us in the most disrespectful way. I have never felt so disrespected, belittled, and upset. Matt was the rudest, most narcissistic person I've ever encountered, and I will never return to that bar. However, his colleague was very kind, and I feel sorry for them having to work with someone like Matt. Thanks for ruining a night out, Matt—I hope your inflated ego was satisfied. If I could give 0...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at a place with a waitress named Jenna, and it was an experience I won't forget. Jenna was not just super nice; she was the embodiment of the right vibe that can turn an ordinary evening into an extraordinary one. Her warmth and friendliness were immediately evident, creating an inviting and enjoyable atmosphere. When a glitch with my credit card prevented me from leaving a tip, she simply smiled and said, "Don't worry about it; I hope to see you soon." Jenna's response was so genuinely kind that it prompted me to run to the nearest ATM to retrieve cash to leave her a well-deserved tip. Her graciousness and understanding were a shining example of exceptional service.
The drinks and food at this place were exceptional, but to be completely honest, even if they weren't, I would still return in a heartbeat. What truly made this experience special was the exceptional kindness and warmth of everyone involved, including the workers behind the bar!
Mister Paradise, the Manhattan bar that I recently visited, should consider a rebrand to "Miss Paradise" because of one incredible reason: Jenna, the radiant server who brightened our night. My boyfriend and I will definitely...
Read moreMy friend and I were looking for a new place to drink and walked past this bar last night around 10 pm. The place had one couple in it, we were skeptical, but we thought we would give it a chance.
I had the Dirk Diggler, it wasn’t good, pls stop serving it. It is neither here or there, wasn't sweet, wasn’t sour. It was a strange combination. I didn’t even bother finish it
My friend didn’t like anything on the menu so he asked for a variation of an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. The bartender made a Black Manhattan. My friend wasn’t impressed with it either.
As our drinks get warmer, condensation water made a puddle on the bar counter. Before I left, I asked why they don’t use coasters, the bartender said they don’t. Pls use a coasters of something to soak up the water. Ppl often place their phones, wallets, handbags on the bar, and the water might damage them. Pls improve your drink and how youdo things. I want you to succeed, NYC need...
