Located inside the new Tangram Mall food court is Na Tart which serves Portuguese-style egg tarts. I think what sets Na Tart apart from other bakeries that sells egg tarts is the variety of unusual flavors that they offer. Currently, they have seven sweet flavors (Classic, Purple Sweet Potato, Chocolate Bobo, Magnum Matcha, Mochi, Durian and Milky Mango) and two savory flavors (Salty Boy and Garlic Butter).
As a new food stall, they still have some kinks to iron out. We visited around 1pm on a quiet Thursday and they were already almost out of inventory. I was told that it would be a forty-minute wait for new batch to finish baking. They were able to sell me the last three egg tarts which I quickly grabbed. I originally wanted to buy a dozen egg tarts for the family but that was not to be.
When I opened the box, I found that they had given me the last three Purple Sweet Potato egg tarts. The tarts were smaller than I was expecting but exquisitely decorated. My first impression after the first bite was very positive. I loved the contrast of the extremely crunchy crust with the soft custardy filling. The filing was a mix of the classic Portuguese custard with chunks of soft purple sweet potato. The tarts are a bit pricey at almost four bucks each but honestly want to give them another try. The Purple Sweet Potato tarts were so good, and I cannot wait to try their other flavors. I think these would be really great desserts to bring to parties or as presents, that is if you are able to grab them before...

The staff were friendly and able to explain each option to us, and we got our tarts nearly immediately after ordering.
As for the food, it was alright, not the best. I must've been mistaken but I thought it would be different flavored egg tarts, but I couldn't really tell the difference between our assortments. The egg tart was fine, it's a Portuguese styled egg tart, and those tasted pretty standard. As for the other flavors, it didn't really scream egg tart, more like fillings placed within an egg tart shell. I get the appeal but it wasn't for me.
Overall, it's a decent quality dessert, but has room for...
Read moreTheir tarts were good but they were unable to fulfill our order because they sold tarts to patrons after us even though we ordered first. We bought 4 tarts with one being ube and one being chocolate and we’re told that it would take 5 minutes for the chocolate tart to be ready. We came back after 5 minutes to get our order and they asked us for a receipt (which they never gave us) and then told us that there were no more ube tarts. There were ube tarts when we ordered and they proceeded to give those tarts to the patrons ordering after us. Leaving us with having to get another chocolate tart. While we weren’t disappointed with the tarts themselves, It was the service that...
