Do not go here if you're used to good customer service. I've been here twice and both times the same woman did my nails. I think the other women in there will at least smile at you, but this woman looks like she is doing you the biggest favor the entire time, did not speak a word to me, even to say hello.
The first time I went there I had asked for a gel manicure and after she filed my nails I realized I needed to come back the next week for a color change so it didn't make sense for me to go with a gel manicure but rather a regular. As soon as I mentioned I changed my mind, GAME OVER. First she tried to convince me that gel would stay longer and is better for my nails. That's a load of crap - gel is probably worse but yes it does stay longer. I continued to tell her I wanted a regular manicure probably 3 times until she said okay. After that, she pushed back my cuticles and cut my cuticles so hard that I started to bleed. She was clearly angry and was taking it out on my hands. Who does that?! After my manicure was done, she missed a spot so I pointed it out to her as a paying customer should receive the service they are paying for. Not at this place. She looked as if I was asking her to redo both hands. I still tipped her 15% and then when I was leaving she skipped the 3 second massage you get when you go to dry. Tough love. I should have remembered her when I went back after 2 months - today.
Of course when I get there and she comes to do my nails is when I remember I should have asked to not have her. Either way no one else was available so I said to myself, maybe she was in a bad mood the last time - let's try her again. WRONG CHOICE
She comes up to me while I am waiting in the pedicure chair, no HI or Hello. She then looks at the color I pick and yells "this is 3 dollars more" so I told her I know.
Then she starts on the pedicure. The water was a bit hot when I put my feet in so I moved it around a bit to get used to. Without her asking me if it was too hot she blasts the cold water. Just ask me? I was fine with it just needed getting used to - so I decided I would just turn it myself since she didn't seem like the talking type once again.
Next - she barely used the pumice stone on the bottom of my feet. All in all, the pedicure is something I could have given myself - wasn't worth the 25 bucks I paid.
Next up - manicure. The service Im used to - the lady doing your nails will ask you to step down and walk to your chair while she offers to bring your things. I had to ask her to bring my bulky coat over as I tip toed to get to my seat. This place is a nail salon, my nails are going to be wet, this isn't rocket science.
I sat down for my manicure and the paint job is probably the only thing that I can say went well. When I went to pay - she literally counted the cash tip I gave her in front of my eyes to see what I tipped. Is that going to give her a better idea of how well to do my nails, this lady is literally nuts.
Once the manicure was over, she tapped me and said come back here in her rude voice again. I sat down to dry and when I asked for some saran wrap for my toes upon leaving she told me to hang on. Next - she came and put the saran wrap and pulled my pants down from the bottoms in such a rush and runs away. No bye, no thank you, no see you next time? Aren't you trying to acquire customers?
I had to ask the owner or manager - "she just ran away, can i have some help putting my shoes on considering my nails are still wet?" the manager said something to her in their native language while smirking and the rest of the ladies started to giggle as well. the woman came back and put my socks on maybe half way and ran back.
I have never experienced such horrible service at a nail salon on my life. Getting my nails done is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable and has always been something I look forward to. Unfortunately the Color Nail Bar is not the place to relax and quite frankly if you do happen to go there - make sure you DO NOT get the lady in her 40s with the...
Read moreI am so disappointed with this salon and will never go back. The first few times it was okay, my gel manicures lasted a long time (but they did charge me more than I was originally told). This time, I went in for a gel manicure. The woman doing my nails seemed like she would rather being doing literally anything besides my nails and was pretty careless and rushed. About four days later, my nails started to chip. I also noticed the color had totally changed. It went from a nice light purple to almost dirty pink/white. I called them right away and she told me to send her photos through Instagram. I sent them right away and she asked who did my nails. They don't where name tags so I couldn't tell her, but I responded and answered her other questions. I never heard back so I called a few hours later. She told me I could come in around 8:30pm or 8:45pm so she could take a look. When I went in, she told me only one was really chipping (8 of my nails had pretty bad chips in them) and also told me I must have done something to cause the color change and chipping. I went back and forth with this woman and she continued to blame me. I don't think she listened to a word I said. All I wanted was for her to redo the manicure and use a similar color, but one that wouldn't change. She told me she could do it but would have to charge me. So I guess my $40 gel manicure is not even supposed to last a week? The way she treated me and handled the situation was so poor. Blaming customers is no way to run a business. I was hoping for this to be my regular spot, since it's close to where I live, but I would never recommend anyone go to this salon. They are rude, dismissive, and don't take accountability. It's unfortunate to be treated this way but I'm glad to have only paid for a few manicures from this place. They will not be getting any more business from me or any of my friends who heard about my experience (and saw my chipped, discolored nails). Beware...
Read moreI was browsing the neighborhood for a good quality nail salon (clean, respectable, ect). I was greeted and assisted as soon as I walked in for SNS manicure and a pedicure. I liked the idea of SNS because it last longer than gel. Boy was I wrong at this particular salon. I got my nails done on Sunday and they were cracking by Monday - I kid you not. I went back Tuesday to have them redone. She said out of all her clients this has never happened, however I read in an article that if the powder layers aren’t even, it will crack. She asked me if I used the computer a lot - I do but what does that have to do with short nails and SNS cracking on Day 2. To rectify the problem she filed down the top coat and put two top coats on. Since I got them redone the same day (Tuesday) they were cracking before I even left Manhattan. So disappointing to spend so much money on quality to get the opposite. At this point I won’t be coming back - complete waste of money. I’ve gotten better SNS in LI -what I’ve noticed is SNS takes time. I just feel like she rushed the process leaving some steps out causing my nails to...
