What a horrible experience!
I recently moved into the neighborhood and decided to give this place a try for takeout. We ordered chilaquiles, a torta and some fries.
Upon delivery, my husband picked up the food and we started eating. I immediately noticed something was off with the chilaquiles. The sauce tasted weird (chilaquiles are my favorite so I get them pretty regularly and I know what they should taste like).
I was pretty pissed but starving so opted to just start eating the chicken and eggs. My husbands food was fine. Upon noticing I wasn’t eating the chilaquiles my husband decided to try them and agreed they were off, it wasn’t just me. We decided to call the restaurant.
They were apologetic and asked if they could send me a replacement dish. They also asked me to send back the chilaquiles. I ordered a huarache.
I waited an additional 40min for the food. Upon delivery I finally started eating. And then about 20min in the restaurant started calling. The lady on the phone was different and she was upset the food was opened. She said in the future I needed to return unopened food and claimed that something was wrong with me. She suggested maybe I had done something to the food, or just couldn’t handle spicy.
I was stunned, first of all I’m Mexican and eat spicy on the regular. I was honestly not even going to not even write a review from their bad chilaquiles and accept maybe it was an accident on their end. But to then call me back after everything had been resolved and give me that attitude was completely rude and unnecessary. Was I not supposed to taste the food I ordered? Why was she adamant the food needed to be unopened? Was she planning on giving that to someone else? I don’t understand?
Needless to say I will not be...
Read moreI wish I could describe how amazing their little outdoor seating oasis is. If you can go there on a summer night, do it. My husband and I stumbled upon this place while taking a walk, searching for a place to eat. After we passed their cute little outdoor seating area, I knew this was the place. Such cute ambiance, with the palms, and the flowers...not to mention the food was delicious. Good portions, and their pulled pork reminded me of pernil. Flan was SO good. Only thing was their tiramisu was served frozen. Not a fav when expecting a spongy, soft coffee cake type of texture and receing a frozen block. Once we let it thaw a bit, it did taste good. :) So that saved it. Super deeeelish otherwise and the waitress was so...
Read moreThe ABSOLUTE BEST. I recommend this place to everyone I can. Un - believable bistec chimichanga and mole enchiladas. I have not tried much else on the menu to be honest, but once you find your heaven you’re not really looking for greener grasses, right? I think I’ve gotten the steak chimichanga 6 times in a row. Very reasonable prices. Very kind staff. They have very healthy and happy plants in the window. Never too crowded. Highly recommend going in to eat as opposed to getting take out. I cannot say enough good things. It’s hard to stand out in a neighborhood with 80 Mexican restaurants in a square mile, but...
