Went to Sofia bar last week and I left very disappointed. The positives- ambiance and the wine. Sofia bar is really cute, and rustic inside. The lights are dim and it has a very intimate feel. The wine selection is great and reasonably priced. Negatives: menu, service and food. Our servers were polite which I appreciate but took a long time and misinformed us about the menu. My sister in law is gluten free and the waiter told us being told us everything on the menu has gluten free options (even the pizza)..so we ordered pizza, meatballs and a salad. After waiting about 15 min the manager came over and told us they didn't have gluten free options at all and the only 3 items that did not include wheat products were a salad, a dip and something else (really?!) so then we had to order again and wait a long time for the food. You'd think the manager would try to make up for it somehow as that was a big mistake but he didn't seem too concerned. So after another 20 min wait, we finally got our food and I was not impressed. Margherita pizza was pretty much all sauce no cheese and a crab salad barely had crab on it. The busser kept coming over trying to clear our plates before we finished, which I found very annoying. On top of that the menu is very limited. Doesn't include many meat options and is kind of boring. For these reasons I am giving it 2 stars. If we didn't order a bottle of wine and enjoyed the ambiance we prob would have left but at least we were in...
Read moreI recently visited the Sofia Wine Bar, and it was an absolute delight! The atmosphere was enchanting, beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating a warm and festive vibe that made the experience even more special.
We kicked off our meal with the stuffed mushrooms and meatballs as appetizers. Both were bursting with flavor and set the perfect tone for the evening.
For the main course, I enjoyed the La Nonna Pan Pizza and the Paccheri Lisci Bolognese. The pizza was perfectly cooked, with a crispy crust and delicious toppings, while the Bolognese sauce in the paccheri was rich and satisfyingâdefinitely a highlight!
I couldn't resist trying the Bianca pizza, which was a lovely nod to my name. It was as delightful as it sounds, with a perfect blend of flavors that left me wanting more.
To finish off the meal, we indulged in the homemade tiramisu for dessert. It was heavenlyâlight, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending to our feast!
Tommy, the owner, was incredibly nice and professional, guiding us through the menu with great recommendations. His passion for the food and atmosphere really shone through.
Overall, I highly recommend the Sofia Wine Bar for anyone looking for a cozy spot with fantastic food and a welcoming atmosphere. It was a truly...
Read moreI went in today 8/29/2022 at 4PM (when they first opened) and ordered a glass of wine and pizza with my boyfriend. The first sip I took I noticed that there was something in my mouth and when I took it out my mouth (with wine still sitting in my mouth) there was a brownish/grey thing on my finger. When I wiped it onto the glass i noticed it was a dead bug with its head detached! I could see itâs body and even an antenna! I spit my wine back into the glass and started yelling there was a bug in my Wine! My boyfriend took my glass and inspected it as well and in shock and disgust took it back to the counter with the staff looking at us! NONE of the staff apologized, they just looked at us with blank looks and there had to be at least 3 people behind the bar! As we were leaving we told them they should at least have the decency to apologize and how disgusting that is! No one said anything and just watched us leave. We were there for a whole 15 minutes into them opening the restaurant! This shows that either their glasses are not cleaned and stored properly or the wine itself is not properly sealed and stored at the end of the night. Beyond disgusted and disappointed in the restaurant and...
