Overpriced, which I'm willing to overlook because of the neighborhood. But the terrible customer service makes this a one star establishment.
I ordered the rib lunch special, which is clearly listed on the menu as 4 ribs, two sides, cornbread and a drink. When I get my order, after finishing one rib I look at my plate and notice that I've got only two ribs left.
When I point this out to the guy at the counter, he speaks to the kitchen briefly and informs me that based on the size of the ribs, sometimes they only give you three.
I'm stunned, I point out that the menu didn't have that policy listed, but I'm not willing to fight over it, as I've already resolved to never eat there again.
Meanwhile, two women who were trying to decide if they would eat there heard the exchange and promptly left. The guy at the register is confused as to why they would walk out.
Then he brings me a fourth rib like he's doing me a favor.
The food is serviceable, but overpriced. Couple that with their sketchy customer service, and this place is definitely...
Read moreThis meal exactly met my expectations. I was looking for a quick delivery with just enough chicken for one and a few sides to have a balanced meal after a workout. Texas Rotisserie was at my doorstep in 20 minutes with a quarter chicken (dark meat), potatoes with garlic and parsley and steamed vegetables (and a surprise cornbread muffin!). The chicken was nothing special. Slightly on the dry side and little to no seasoning on the skin. The potatoes were unreliable: an undercooked one here, an overcooked one there. The steamed vegetables tasted metallic and as though they came straight from the ground (well, the broccoli wasn't looking as fresh). Despite my gripes, the meal filled me up and has a lot of potential. When you put the price in perspective: $10 (tip included) for chicken/cornbread + 2 sides, it's a really good deal. Sure, the food didn't blow me away, but it filled me up (and so far, despite other reviewer's comments, I am...
Read moreI literally love this place. But they can be off on some days. It's really sad. I can imagine this restaurant can be one of the best in NYC if they can get their cooking consistent and delicious. Some days the mac and cheese will be watery and kinda gross and even spoiled to an extent, because it will have a sharp flavor and it's not cheese. I honestly dont know. But other days its AMAZING. As well with their grilled chicken tenders, some days its AMAZING, and others like today is completely undercooked, even though it was asked to be well done. I honestly dont understand how this can continue to happen, and I've been ordering for years. I normally dont like leaving bad reviews. But I feel like something needs to be addressed. Recieving chicken that is still pink inside is beyond unacceptable. And like I said I really love this place, but they really need to figure out who's ruining the food quality on...
