In many ways, the pizza at Traditas satisfies the few necessary requirements to be considered a “good slice of New York pizza”: it’s salty, savory, slightly sweet, highly accessible, and it’s flavor would only be amplified by even an ounce of booze on your tongue. But in many other ways, the pizza does nothing less than disappoint and leave you wondering what could have been. All three slices were warmed to perfection. The white slice was garlicky and cheesy flavorful, and the extra little burnt end was a nice little treat to start the slice. But it would have been better if the dough had not been as dry as it was. The cheese slice was solid but offered 1) slightly too sweet of a sauce for my palette and 2) did little more than taste like every other slice of cheese from any run of the mill pizzeria. The pepperoni slice was a joke. It’s just a regular cheese slice with a handful of cheap, greasy, flavorless ‘ronis mindlessly thrown on. The shop could really do something to make the flavor of this one stand on its own but until then, it’s a total waste of $5 in my opinion. With so many pizza shops in the Flatiron/ NoMad area, it’s a shame this spot has 4.9 stars. The pizza isn’t bad by any means. The pizza is objectively decent and gets the job done. There are lots of pie options, too, and the staff was more than warm and welcoming. But from what I can discern, the food is just boring and tastes like almost any other run-of-the-mill, money-grab grub hub. For what it’s worth, there are a handful of other pizzerias in the area I would immediately recommend over this. I wish I could give the spot 3.5 stars on Google Maps, because that’s what it truly deserves. Traditas is nothing special or nothing bad; it’s just that after eating 3 slices the taste left in my mouth was practically nothing at all.

Went on a business trip to New York. I'm coming from Houston Texas and I wanted to try some authentic New York Pizza. I was limited to places that were walking distance from my hotel. Luckily, Traditas Pizza was right down the street. I have to attempt I had my reservations because it was counter pizza that you choose and they warm it up in the oven. However, it had great reviews so I gave it a shot. I tried the BBQ, Margareta, and Lasagna pizza plus a grape soda. I was so pleasantly suprised!! Honestly, one of the best pizzas I have had in my life. Not too thick on the bread, crispy under, perfect amount of sauce and toppings. Every slice was absolutely fantastic! The service was also great! The cashier told me nicely to have a seat and will bring my pizza once it has been prepared. Afterwards, he also told me to feel free to leave to plate and he would clean up the garbage. Granted not a crumb was left over. Highly recommend and I am already dreaming of going back to have another slice.

If I can recommend 1 slice, it Has to be the Chicken Parmesan! Wow ! Packed with flavor. Rich, flavorful marinara sauce, topped with mozzarella and breaded Chicken chunks.. big , hearty chunks. Hold it with 2 hands. Yeah, it's about $6 a slice, and the plain / cheese slice is $4. Plain slice is good also. A good amount of cheese and sauce, definitely not skimpy on the cheese. Dough is not super thin , but just the right amount of thickness, not crispy nor stiff. The crust if fluffy, not dry and brittle. Is the plain slice a perhaps 1 dollar to much... yeah, but overall the slices here have all been consistently gooood.

Oh Traditas, I’m so sad because I did SO love your pizza. Yours was the only grandma pie I ordered for months (and I order them a lot). And then today you just totally dropped the ball, and I no longer have access to your yummy pizza because you burned me twice in one order.

First, I received a single slice instead of the actual whole pie I ordered and paid for. I laughed and called you, and you said sorry and you’d send an actual pie in 15 minutes. I waited an hour and realized my stomach was growling, and noticed a missed call from you (I’m kind of glad I was in the other room when you called because it was bad news, plus I don’t want to have to talk to humans anymore than necessary, that’s why I used an app).

I called you to find out what was up, and you said the delivery guy hadn’t shown up to pick up the pizza in 30 minutes, which meant my pie was getting cold and old. And then you said you don’t have anyone else to bring it, and then there was silence…for me to fill with a solution?

You said you’re so sorry a couple of times, but it doesn’t feel like that when somehow people all over the city are getting orders from you (it’s only 7pm) and somehow my pie is stranded. I said “then I’m getting a refund?”, you said of course and I said “thanks…”, click. Guys. Try harder. You forced me to find a new grandma pie spot, and they’re already...
