DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS OF THIS SALON!! I recently booked a highlight session which the owner quoted me for $350 including haircut. I go in asking for blonde highlights and was assigned a hairstylist named MAX, he did not speak English but I showed him some pictures of exactly what I wanted including a LONG LAYERED haircut that I wanted. What I got WAS NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR!!! I felt like he was really messy in doing my hair with the bleach and highlight and rushed the process bc I have gone to other hair salons and know when a stylist gives their full attention and is particular with how they place the bleach on hair. The bleaching part was messy, the OUTCOME WAS MESSY AND NOT WHAT I HAD ASKED FOR WHEN I SHOWED HIM PICTURES !!! On top of that he cut my hair wayyyyyyyyy too short WHEN I DIDNT SAY I WANTED A SHORT CUT and the haircut was not good at all AND EXTREMELY MESSY AGAIN and not what I asked for also. I showed him multiple pictures of exactly what I wanted and he did not do anything what I had asked for. The haircut was really bad and the whole process was not what i wanted. My hair was left with different colors and was so blotchy and the haircut was cut wayy past to what I wanted. The owner also OVERCHARGED me at the end when he told me a specific quote when I asked him what the total was going to be. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place at all! It was overpriced for what you are getting and not worth it at all I left soooo unhappy with my results bc it was nothing that I had asked for! I spent over $450 and was sooooooooo unhappy with the results. I left wanting to cry bc of how short my hair came out to be.

UPDATE 6 months later: I am completely traumatized from this hair salon. My hair was cut extremely short and they over bleached and damaged my hair so much! I now have to take nutrafol supplements to try to regrow my hair out. I WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS COME HERE EVER AGAIN!! they not only overcharged me !! They cut my hair more than 7 inches in length not what I had asked for, over bleached it, damaged it so bad! This is the worst hair salon I have ever been to!

UPDATE SEP 2025, it took me MONTHSSSSS to grow back my hair after they gave me the worst cut of my life and the worst bleach!! My hair was damaged beyond repair and they thinned it out so much I had to start taking nutrafol to grow back my length. I still stand by my review and DO NOT RECOMMEND coming here at all. I should have seriously sued the stylist for ruining my hair for what he did. This is the worst salon I have ever experienced and I paid so much for them to ruin my...

This was one of the most disappointing and frustrating salon experiences I’ve ever had. I only needed a light root touch-up — nothing complicated, no full-length coloring. My hair is short and thin, no volume or density. It was a simple preparation for hair extensions, and I clearly explained that beforehand. I even brought the hair I was going to use for the extensions with me so the stylist could match the color properly. They initially quoted me $300–350, with a maximum of $350 including all extras. In the end, I was charged almost $500. Not a single word during the process that the price was increasing — they just hit me with the total at the end like it was completely normal. As for the so-called “haircut” they charged for — I never asked for one. I’m getting extensions, I didn’t need it. The stylist herself suggested trimming the burnt ends. She snipped twice in the back and counted it as a full service. They simply deceive people. They quietly add on things you never asked for and present you with an inflated bill. I strongly do not recommend this place. If you don’t want to be scammed and overcharged for things you didn’t agree to — stay far away.

have the full chat with your stylist where she clearly says the total will be no more than $300–350 including Olaplex. There was no haircut — she just trimmed the burned ends she damaged herself. And now instead of apologizing, you throw a tantrum in the comments and call the client a “scammer”?

No — you are the scammers here. First, you lie about the price. Then you damage the hair. And when you get called out, you start acting like children online. This isn’t a salon — it’s a joke. Your behavior is embarrassing, your service is trash.

Now I’m going to share this story on TikTok, Threads, my blog, Yelp, and everywhere else I can. People need to know what really goes on at your place. You ruin people’s hair, lie, and insult them publicly — and think there won’t be consequences? You just chose...

Carmen is an absolute master at her craft!! I came in the door very nervous because I’m a curly-haired woman, and not everyone can handle my type of hair. Carmen was super friendly from the start and when I presented the photos of what I was aiming for, she knew exactly what I was looking for, the technical names were for each shade, and knew how to achieve the end result. She asked a few additional questions, just based on the color I currently had and she quickly went to work.

Carmen is very meticulously and also gives great head massages when washing the hair. She takes care of the person in front of her and really shows that she knows what she is doing. The appointment I had was later in the day (6:30) and despite the fact that the salon officially closed and everyone went home, she did not rush through things to leave and I truly appreciated that. I have never felt so good about how my hair has turned out. I look forward to seeing her again in a few months for retouching.

E&D Staff: Everyone was super friendly. I booked through Instagram where the asked me several questions about what I wanted done, the color, etc and paired me with the ideal person. Upon arrival, I was acknowledged and quickly tended to. Carmen offered several drink options and even later on the evening she offered me a snack since we both were missing dinner!

Location: E&D is very easily to locate and close to the RW trains and a few blocks from the 6 train and Penn Station.

The Space: E&D is BEAUTIFUL. It’s bright, clean, and well-kept. You have an easy sight line from the door to the back of the room, and having functioning AC is a huge plus. The salon chairs and the chairs at the washing station are VERY comfortable. I was surprised to see that there was cushion on the neck-part of the washing station sink.

I highly recommend E&D Salon and cannot...
