My name is Cynthia Shin, and I am an independent certified CAT RESCUER. I feel the need to respond to the terrible review MIKE CHUNG left on the restaurant. Mike, you saw me, my friend and husband bringing in cats after spay/neuter vet care from the ASPCA, back to the yard of this restaurant. The owner of this restaurant is an animal lover who has been caring for many cats that come to the yard and also on Union Street, (next to the firehouse station) The owner of Wai Po Ren Jia reached out to us for help to give the stray cats care and avoid future overpopulation. Please feel free to visit my Instagram account @michis_flushingferals where you can see first hand what we do to care for the street cats of Flushing, DM me and I will be happy to tell you the work we did with this particular colony of cats. Thanks to this restaurant owner and kind workers, a lot of animal suffering was avoided. Your review, without any knowledge of the situation, might hurt kind, honest, and hard-working people, along as other cats that still live in the train tracks and need vet care. Your review is unfair and untrue. It has nothing to do with the food these people work so hard to serve their clients. It's obvious you been there before, and that's why you returned to eat delicious meals. I understand it was probably upsetting to see us coming in and out with the humane traps, but there was no other way we could get to the back of the restaurant to return the cats to their home. The fact that we came at that time, shows we have nothing to hide. Please do your research, TNR is a humane way to care for stray animals, and we all worked hard with the help of the ASPCA to help these cats. This is a BIG misunderstanding. I am sorry you felt sick, but you were quite mistaken. Cynthia Shin Independent CAT Rescuer. PS: Below, I'm posting a picture of kittens we rescued and are now adopted. If the restaurant workers didn't reach out for help, these cats would still live in the...
Read moreThis place is a fraud. My friend and I were here for dinner. We ordered three dishes from the menu. The prices were acceptable. The dishes were good, not surprisingly good, but OK. Then the check came. I was surprised to find that each dish was charged more than 22% higher than the menu prices. I asked them what was going on. The waiter replied "oh, the menu prices are wrong. We haven't got the chance to do the new menu." What!!! Why didn't you mention it when we order? With the 22% price hike, the place is definitely overpriced. And they were dishonest. I would feel better if they told me the menu prices were old before we order. I will never come back to...
Read moreA tiny storefront in a commercial strip off a residential street in Flushing, Ju Shui Yuan didn't look like much from the outside. From the fragrant tea and small dishes of pickled spicy daikon and seaweed salad dropped on the table when we first walked in; the generous, fragrant and carefully prepared plates; to the efficient caring service we recieved, all made this my favorite discovery in the...
