Read moreCame here on a Thursday morning around 9am on my way to work (4 blocks away on 6th). It was bustling inside but no one was on line to order. It's a bit confusing where to wait to order because the cafe is long and narrow...like a bar, got it. So I parked myself in front of the menu on the wall in the very front of the entryway...kind of blocking anyone wanting to also come in. It looked cute inside, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Service was unfriendly, but quick. No smiles, very little patience, and absolutely no cute design in my foam (womp, womp, wooooomp). Kidding, that's not an actual factor in my rating - we can leave that to the more hipster coffee shops.
I ordered a latte to-go and was served after the gentleman who ordered after me who asked for a latte for-here. The barista said something along the lines of "sir, here you are first, since you are for-here" .......................k...? Not that it took much longer for him to pass me mine, but it was....odd.
Latte had cooled significantly in the 4 blocks to my office, but the quality was nice. Size was small for $4.50, but I get that it's right near Central Park and trendy coffee shops will be trendy coffee shops.
It's situated nicely in relation to my subway stop and my office, so I may find my way back, but not without trying every and all other coffee shops on my list of bookmarked or future bookmarked...

While sitting down at a table I started to take a sip of my Americano that was in a to go cup. The lid came off and coffee spilled onto me, the table, and the floor. I immediately jumped up and my wife went to grab some napkins. After wiping myself and the table down, we tried to put the lid back on the cup, but it would not fasten. I brought this to the attention of the barista, by letting him know that the lid was not secure on my cup. Mistakes happen, so I did not approach him with an attitude. He responded by saying “ok” in a very uninterested manner. He did not ask if everything was ok after spilling hot coffee on myself due to his negligence. Just a simple ok. This is unacceptable. Though I did not tell him I spilled coffee on myself, it should have been obvious with me suddenly jumping up to wipe myself off. If he did not see that, I know he noticed my wife and I walking by the counter to grab napkins or the two us wiping down the table. We were disappointed by the extremely poor level of customer service, so we left without taking another sip from our drinks. We will definitely not...
