After a very long day enjoying a Sunday football game, my husband and I decided that before making our 90 minute drive home, we would stop in to one of our favorite eateries for dinner. We were seated pretty quickly and our waiter “D” (not going to use his full name) took our order. We wanted to start the meal with a hot cup of coffee (yes, probably not your standard Sunday meal starter) but as I said, we had been out watching football in 40 degree and somewhat rainy weather and needed a little pick me up of warmth. After 10 minutes, we had to remind “D” that we still needed our coffee. After a few more minutes coffee arrived at the table and we began the process of “doctoring” our coffee (cream, sugar, etc.) to each of our individual likings. My husband got to his coffee first, and before he could stop me from from sipping mine, he states quite emphatically IT’S COLD!! Yes, it most definitely was horribly cold. We gained “D’’s” attention to let him know and he immediately apologized and says let me brew you a fresh pot. After 5 minutes, and no sign of “D”, we asked another waitress if she could locate him so that we could have our coffee before the rest of our appetizers/meal arrived. She apologized for our wait and said she would get the coffee herself. A minute later, hot coffee was delivered to our table, and we thought the worst was over…WRONG!! “D” now comes out and produces 2 cups of coffee for the table and proceeds to spill creamer all over the table and onto my phone. He immediately begins to sop up the mess from the table, but completely ignores the obvious, my phone. He says he will be back with more napkins (never happened). Our appetizer arrives, again, BARELY above room temperature. Not only is this disheartening, but this could very well be a food safety issue. Next our salads and soups arrive (salad was cold, soup was hot) and we thought NOW the worst is over….again…SO WRONG!! Now, out comes our meals, and immediately I see that my order was incorrect . I had ordered a seafood pasta dish, but what came to the table was seafood and mashed potatoes. Before the gentleman helping “D” with serving us can put the plate down, I let them know this is not what I ordered. They both apologize and take both plates away, only to return 10-15 minutes later with the same exact plates, now cold and looking less appetizing. At this point, we are done. We ask “D” for our check and he again profusely apologizes and says since we did not get our meal as ordered, he would only be charging us for the coffees. As my husband is settling the bill at the table, he asks me to go speak with the manager, Cindy. Cindy listens, apologizes and offers to refund the $12 we spent for the 2 coffees, but at this point, it is a little too late. We have eaten at many of Carraba’s locations in several different states, and have ALWAYS been ecstatic with our entire experiences, but this location has got to be hands down the worst food & wait...
Read moreI love this place from the ground up. Came with a couple of friends for a celebratory birthday dinner. Eagerly looking forward to the Italian experience, we were serenaded with the savory smell of pastas and steaks. The bread was so fluffy with a crispy edge. The bread with olive oil and oregano were great. A classic Italian starter. I ordered the chicken marsala, per recommendation from the waitress. The sauce that topped the chicken was so creamy and rich with flavor. The mushroom marsala on top seemed to melt in my mouth like a fluffy snow flake falling on a bright winter morning. The first bite forced me to audibly moan as my taste buds filled my body with pleasure. The chicken underneath grilled to perfection, my knife cut straight through like a hot knife through butter. Even better was the flavor of the chicken, charred with a sweet chewy texture. The sides complimented the main dish beautifully. The parmesan truffle fries were fried to perfection with a nice crispy crunch in every bite. The mashed potatoes wonderfully paired with the remaining marsala sauce. The service was also over the top. Our needs were met and exceeded. The smiling eyes of all the waitress and the chefs truly allowed us to build a strong customer to employee connection. We had the opportunity to share a brief, yet memorable moment with the waitress as she assured us they had enough water to satisfy our needs. I highly recommend getting a desert, the chocolate cake was sweet and silky texture was life altering. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming as we were seated next to the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. A restaurants character is often revealed in the details. Everything was artistically unique, down to the cups, which were curvy and had a very eye grabbing shape. I will definitely be returning to this location at Concord mills time...
Read moreWhen we came in on Thursday the host welcomed us with smiles! After the wait to be seated, our server didn’t come by until 10 minutes later. When Bradley finally came his demeanor seemed like he was tired and annoyed. I gave him grace at 1st due to the fact the restaurant was a little busy. To my surprise he was more energetic to the other tables, especially the one in front of us with one of the managers parents apparently! The appetizers were good, unfortunately the entrees were horrible. Bradley told me after we ordered the main courses that they just ran out of ricotta. I asked for a ceaser salad instead and to be put in a to go box. Once the food got to my table, my brother and wife said the pasta was salty. My fish was hard, ricotta was super stiff, spinach tasted bland and was greasy. I asked for the manager (Sindey) and asked how this fish was supposed to taste she laughed and asked what do you mean? I repeated myself and she gave me the same reply. So beyond frustrated at this point, I told her how the food tasted and that I didn’t want it. Her reply was do you want something else or a dessert? She asked my family the same. They told her about the pasta. She did take off the meals, and she did talk to Bradley. We never got an apology from anyone. The other manager was so concerned about his parents he never did a table touch. All this probably would have been avoided if he did or any manager table touched. Unfortunately we were ignored about the concerns. My biggest complaint is Bradley continued to be rude, never apologized, looked me up and down like I was the issue. I will never return to this establishment as long as Sidney, Bradley, and the other manager with the teal shirt works at this location. Thanks for paying for food I really didn’t eat and completely...
