I was excited to try out this seafood market because I saw a snip of their menu showing 'spot.' Spot is a big part of my childhood nostalgia!
The lady who took my order was highly knowledgeable about the options. After I paid for my order, I received a coaster/ buzzer. I stood in the lobby and looked around with my daughter. A few minutes later, the lady who helped me came back and asked if I could wait outside. I can't recall ever being asked to wait outside for my order at any restaurant. By the way, it's 95+ degrees outside and it was very hot inside the market too (I didnt feel any AC in the lobby). I asked her how long it would take and she did not offer a time. I asked would it be 30 min or less and she still did not offer any time. She seemed annoyed and said, 'There are orders ahead of yours.' I then asked how far the buzzer would reach and she said 2000 ft. As we exited, my baby asked why we had to leave. I told her, 'I guess they don't want us in there.'
Obviously, my first visit was less than pleasant. Many prior reviews indicate great customer service, but I suppose this was a bad day. Or maybe repeat customers are treated differently than new customers? When I came in, another lady was standing by the door on her phone. I asked if she was in line and she said that she was just waiting on her order.... and she was inside.
When I returned to pick up the food, I asked about being sent outside. She referenced the policy posted to the front counter. She also advised that she was the owner. I called back to ask if there is a way to call in orders or pay online. However, there was no answer.
The food wasn't bad. However, it didn't erase the bad taste of being mistreated. If you're planning to visit for the first time, please be aware of the wait outside policy and the possibility of less than kind service. What if I didn't have AC in my car, or I had walked there with my child? It is so important to treat people with kindness because we don't know what folks are going thru. My interaction was with the owner.... something to...
Read moreUpdate: my review is about my experience with your establishment. I'm sure you have plenty return customers who love your food but I can only speak about my experience. In fact, you were highly recommended to me this is the reason I drove over 60 miles for your food. Nevertheless, I didn't inspect the food until I got home. Sorry you don't like my review but it is my review.
T&D Seafood was recommended to me by a friend for their fried crabs. I was so excited to support a black owned business that I purchased over $100 in cooked and raw seafood. The place was clean and nicely setup and everyone was so friendly. I ordered a whiting fish/shrimp basket with additional fried shrimp(10 shrimp) ($34), 4 fried crabs ($30), 2 medium crab legs and 1 lb large raw shrimp ($37). My complaint is the fish, french fries and fried crabs were extremely salty, coating burnt and greasy. It appears food was cooked in old burned oil. My partner threw the fish and fries in the trash. The shrimp was oily but eatable. I removed all the fried coating from the crabs in order to eat it.....I like to support black business but I expect...
Read moreWish I could give yall 0 stars. The customer service is ridiculous. Walked in today to get crabs and shrimp and after waiting and not being greeted I still was going to purchase. I always come here and get fried crabs or any cooked food. All I asked was to see my crabs before I buy them being that I am a cash paying customer. The young lady comes out laughing and says whoever is in the back says they are not showing me the crabs which is cool and also another reason I won’t be spending my money here ever again 🤷🏽♀️. I normally overlook the horrible customer service but not today. I won’t be...
