I have always enjoyed a good experience at all Panera Bread establishments including this one. However, this evening, I arrived with my 9 and 12 year old daughters for a take out order. We ordered 3 bread bowls and a cobb salad to go. This was @ 7:12 pm. We proceeded to wait and wait for our order. They processed nine orders for people that ordered after us. A lot of these orders were salads(3) and soups(4) among other items. I asked the manager what was taking so long for our order. This was at 7:38 pm. She said that our order wasn't up yet and that they were very busy. I could see the order screen behind her and ours was not on it. When I pointed out that they had served the nine people behind us, she got annoyed. She then asked for my receipt. She went ahead and processed my order off of my receipt! When she finally finished, she had forgotten one bread bowl and the chips. Again, annoyed when I pointed this out to her. She gave me the order and did not offer an apology for the wait, overlooking our order or her attitude. I guess I'm supposed to be thankful that she actually served me!!! I do not know why our order was cleared and not taken care of, but that is not my concern. Mistakes happen in business. This is a natural occurrence. It is how you recover from these mistakes that truly set you apart from your competition. This manager/supervisor failed on all counts. I will say that Ayrison, the young lady that took our order, was very good. Unfortunately, the attitude and actions of the leadership team this evening was very poor. My check number was 400918 and our order number was 418. I will also say that this is the first time that I have ever sent a poor review for anything. Read moreIt did not look busy and it really was not a lot of mobile order activity, so I am unsure why service was so slow. Maybe they were short handed. There was one counter person who was friendly and not too busy and three or four on kitchen duty, one was manager. I do not have the app because i don't really go there enough, however I went to use the kiosk. They are painfully almost unusably slow. Maybe the free wifi drains the kiosk space or the application is really bad, but probably four people were waited on old-school at the counter while i slugged through the kiosk, only to have the tap and reader not working and it lost my order ( all 1 item) so i went to the counter. So much for efficiency.
However, when you order in-store for dine in, it should not take 30 minutes for a bowl of broccoli mac and cheese. Also the portion was pretty small for $11 with a piece of bread. But that's on me. All and all, I usually am disappointed in any Panera anymore with portion size for price. Read moreIt seems that the theme here is "we're out of that". I placed an order for a meeting on Sunday for pickup on Tuesday at 7:30am. I arrived at 7:26 and the order wasn't ready yet. Also, they were out of some of the items that I ordered...at 7:30 in the morning!!!!! I finally received my order at 7:45. I'll never cater a meeting from here again!
UPDATE: I have been ordering for deliver from this location for quite some time. It has been decent for most of that time. Today, I tried to place a future order for 1:15pm earlier in the day. At 1:45, I realized that my order was not coming. I called the location, and they informed me that the Door Dash driver had not shown up and that my order was still sitting there (he told me it was there on the counter at 1pm). He advised me to call Door Dash to resolve the matter. I didn't order from Door Dash, I ordered from the Panera App. DONE with Panera!
