Read moreMy friend and I had such a horrible experience here and we should have honestly not paid for our check seeing that we barely touched the food. We visited on May 21 2019 around 5:30. We walked in and sat at the bar in front of the kitchen and weren’t greeted for at least 5 minutes. A young woman eventually walked over, barely spoke english and she struggled with taking our order. My friend had first ordered a sprite and the philly cheese steak and I decided to get the gnocci. She asked us to move to the dining section, which was odd but we moved anyway. At least 10 minutes go by, we still hadn’t gotten our drink and the waitress is just standing around the back not doing anything. I waved her over and asked if we could get separate checks at the end of the service and the drink now, a totally common thing. Again barely speaking english, she kept telling us she couldn’t split the check even though we saw that everything was written on paper, and that she handed the grill cook hand written paper orders and saw that everything would be put together at the end of the visit. like Are you kidding me? fine. As we waited for the food, two older men who clearly worked there kept watching us from the back and we were incredibly uncomfortable with this as we are two young women. They watched us the WHOLE time we were there and there were at least 3 other parties there. We eventually got up and moved back to the bar near the entrance because we were so uncomfortable. As the grill cook handed our waitress our food, we watched him give her an incredibly weird look and looked over at us—incredibly suspicious, obviously making us more uncomfortable. she handed us our food and the meat looked slightly undercooked in my friends sandwich and I tried a single pasta noodle from my gnocchi and it tasted horrid, the pasta was incredibly over saturated and the sauce tasted foul. The woman handed us the check directly after we received the food and we should have honestly not have even paid for such a disgusting dining experience (place was also swarming with flies, we were swatting them away the whole time). — Moral of the story: Biggest waste of money. You can grab cheaper and better food along the boardwalk and have a MUCH better dining experience elsewhere which is what we did after we left. We wasted 30$ here and got a better dining and food experience (15$) down the boardwalk. Would highly...
Read moreWe were seated quickly. That was probably the best part of our experience here. The service was terrible. The place was empty and they seemed to have at least 3 servers on duty. After we were seated, it took quite a bit of time for the server to come over to us. He was just standing off to the side of us and wandering back and forth not doing anything.
The waiter finally took our order, water and slices of cheese pizza. You wouldn't think that would take that long, right? You order a slice at most pizza places, the pie is already made, they just have to throw it in the oven to reheat. Upon entering, you could see numerous pizzas at the front counter. But...we waited and waited for our slices. Two tables near us were seated after us, ordered after us (by about 5 minutes) and one got a full pizza and the other got slices well before our server came over to us and said it will a few more minutes. It took almost 5 minutes from this point until we had our food. We only ordered slices. Why did the table that came in after us get their cheese slices before us? They had a different server that was actually paying attention to them, making sure their food was there. Not standing at the front of the place talking to the hostess for 10 minutes before getting our slices in the oven. Yes, you read that right. Those other two tables had their pizzas before ours was put in the oven to heat. We waited for below average pizza. It was very bland and nothing special. But now I understand why there wasn't many people here when the place right down the boardwalk was full and had a line spilling out onto the boardwalk.
Let's add onto all this the fact that it took a lot longer than it should have to make change when we paid. The server was at the counter with another employee figuring out the change. Why? Another server used the station on the wall to figure out his customer's change. On top of that, I was owed about $4.75 in change. I only received the bills, no change. By that point, I just wanted to get out of the place considering how long we waited and the fact tht was a sauna in there (no AC or fans). I wasn't about to argue $0.75, I just adjusted the amount of tip I left. I always tip at least 20% but I think this was the first time I ever contemplated not...
