Funk 'n Dive Bar — Restaurant in Ogden

Have never had such an unpleasant experience with Security before. I have been to the Funk & Dive on several occasions. We always have a great time. We went out last night to dinner to celebrate a birthday and were going to have a few drinks at the F&D afterwards. I had A drink with my dinner. When entering the F&D we were greeted by two ppl. One behind a counter and one standing in front of the entrance. The one standing said we had to show our ID's. I assumed I needed to show the guy behind the counter??? I'm 54 yo. and joked that I was old... but i was still attempting to get my ID out. The guy at the counter said I needed to show the guy standing. How an i supposed to know. My friend was at that moment showing her ID to the guy standing. I went to show him my ID and he said we needed to leave? TBH, I thought he was being funny. He then asked how many drinks have I had, I told him I had one. He then said my friend told him I'd had several. She got upset and told him she hadn't said that because I had only had ONE drink. I really couldn't believe he was seriously thinking I was drunk. I had only joked with him. I guess that means you're drunk to him??? He wouldn't let us go in. My friend got pretty upset at how rudely I was being treated, since I to us his attitude didn't seem warranted. We ended up going elsewhere and having a great time. Me and my friends frequent this bar pretty often for their karaoke nights. We love Jay and enjoy having drinks and food here. Needless to say I won’t be coming back. Adam was the security guard who singled me and the only 2 other black girls out of my large group of friends. We all usually meet in the parking lot take pics and mingle before we go in. He accused the first two of drinking but they were just vaping in the car but then turned to me and said I was the one drinking? I literally was not. Changed his story multiple times and when I went to defend my self and try to see what he was seeing. Then he threatened to call the cops on me to search my car if I didn’t leave…very classless. Never once did I get loud or rude with him but I’ve heard a lot of people say they have a problem with Adam in specific . I hope no one has the same experience as me. Really disappointed because we’ve never caused issues or problems there and this whole encounter just felt very...

From movie night & poker to karaoke & live music, this place has something going on most every night. The atmosphere, & people are incredible, & for those looking for it...this is your “third place.” Best tavern in Ogden.

The food is always fantastic, service is always great, and there's always something interesting happening.

They normally have the same menu options as upstairs. There's a great vegan/vegetarian option, too.

Monday is normally movie night. A more laid-back vibe to accommodate the movie.

Poker night is on Tuesdays, normally with over 30 players fighting for poker supremacy. (No cash value, just betting units, you can still sometimes score bar swag, and other cool prizes.)

Thursday & Sunday are normally karaoke nights. The DJ creates a fantastic atmosphere.

Friday & Saturday normally have a live band.

There's a solid selection of beers, spirits, & great food. Excellent place with fantastic people working there.
