As someone who manages sales for major brick and mortar retailers trying to compete with an aggressive online platform I do what I can to build a compelling story that helps to increase foot traffic at the store level. This becomes an ever challenging task when also trying to maintain or grow comp store business year over year. With the fluent understanding I have in this field I am continuously astounded by the lack of quality customer service some major brick and mortars still allow.
This morning I chose to utilize my Samâs Club membership to do some grocery and additional shopping rather than going to Costco where I am also a member. After completing a nearly $800 purchase that included an overflowing cart filled with groceries and a flat bed cart with a large item I had purchased I headed for the door to ask for help pushing both carts and unloading into my vehicle. There was only one person checking receipts at the door despite the very lengthy line of consumers waiting. When I finally reached the door and asked for help I was told to leave my large item in the spot behind her, but to place my food cart at the door while I went for my vehicle. In following the direction I was given, I was corrected and told to leave my food cart outside the door because it was a busy morning and my cart would impede traffic. In an attempt to rationalize with the door checker, her only response was that she would be watching my cart and I shouldnât worry because she does it all the time. With a line that seemed to have no end and her back very obviously more on my cart than the line, I chose to take my cart with me and unload it myself. After completing this task I headed with my vehicle to the pick up line outside the door and had to re-enter the store for my large item. I declined any additional help at this point and took care of my loading on my own.
For years I have asked myself why I continue as a member at Sams Club when they have proven time and time again they are not there to help their members in any way. When not looking through you like a pane of glass to avoid having to lift a finger and engage the customer they simply disregard any need you have whatsoever. I find it hard to understand that after spending nearly $800 I would be expected to leave my purchased goods on the outside of the store unattended while I went to get my vehicle. After more than 20 years of being a loyal Samâs Club member, this is my last straw. I will NOT spend another penny of my hard earned money with a retailer who employs such rude and lazy staff. There are two Costco stores in town. They will gain all of the money Iâve spent annually with you for years. Good luck comping your store numbers in years to come. Iâm confidant I wonât be the last customer...
Read moreDON"T GO TO SAMS!!!!!!! I bought a membership thru my employer as a perk --- SAMS DOESN"T HONOR IT IF YOU HAD A PREVIOUS MEMBERSHIP!!! Their reps on 10/11 said 'you had a membership and we won't honor any memberships unless they are purchased from Sams directly. They were both rude. and the girl had more piercings and tats on her that ever - very unprofessional in the service industry. Tacky and disgusting in my opinion when we have to talk to people and have to look at that. Facial piercings. All need to do is put a chain on her and attach her to a Jeep and tow her. Pathetic. I went to Costco after I left there and bought a member there. I go to Sams to buy things I need NOT get harrassed by phone people trying to cell me a phone plan, a guy selling knives for $69.99 for 30 minutes. And then dealing with the fact that when I check out WITH A SAMS PERSON and then someone at the door checks EVERY item the 2nd time. If you people don't trust your people to check out my items when I put the on the belt, that is your problem NOT MINE!! If I have to go thru this either with a SAMS person or doing it myself, I can order it online and make your people pull it and deliver it to my car. This self check out crap and still have to stop at the front. That doesn't instill trust to anyone, your staff when ya'll check us out by doing every item or when we do it - if ya'll don't trust us to do it and do EVERYTHING in my cart, I might as well start doing it online!!! That is annoying and it holds up the line to get out of the club when I had 4 items which staff did and the guy did it again on Sunday 3/10/2024. I am tired of the whole process now a days... ya'll don't trust anyone - ya'll gonna loose customers if keep treating us like we are thieves and also the annoying sales people selling additional crap in the store!!!! I am about fed up with it and may cancel my membership there and at Costco if that is what Sams thinks of us. And I told the clerk NO about a credit card twice and she ran my information anyways, that is unacceptable and I do not appreciate it - when I say NO I mean NO!! Teach your clerks what the word NO means - not everyone wants a sams credit card, if we did - we'd have one, there is a reason I don't have one, I don't want the interest rate, if I wanted one, I would have one and I don't apreciate being strongarmed and my credit being tagged everytime I shop at Sams. That...

A white woman pulled in and stopped in front of Me n refused to move because, I'm black. She was then over yellow line On my side road. I stopped n even was going to back up go around cause she refused to move then she pulled closer to me so I couldn't go forward. I waited 5 to 10 mins or more, she took out phone n just sit there I waved her to move she refused she just rolled eye pop finger at us. N refused to move. I then backed up cause I had an appt to get to n drop my daughter off to get kids. She tryed to pullup on side of me now on my passenger side but couldn't cause I didn't move anymore. my daughter took out her camera. I assumed she was tripping cause she felt she owned both sides road. This women then seeing our camera then moved over away from my car and went on. She just acted privileged n crazy. Refusing to share the road. Sam's needs to change lane direction cause there going to cause accidents. It's 2ways n then turns into onway. She I assume felt she had right away to both sides of the street but it's shared where we where at and to stop sign. I think they need to change that area to prevent these situations. When the person feels she owns the whole road even when there right n left lanes. That turns into single lane. I would have stay n sit her out if I didn't have to get kids n an appt. Just unnecessary actions. Man. I took pics of...
