If you want to throw all of your money away, this is the place to do so. Your stomach and mind would feel better and would feel more at peace if you just threw the $70 you spent at homeless man instead. We had called in earlier to sit in the honey combs and they said it’s first come first serve. We got there and they sat us at a table and told us it’s for big groups. Which is completely understandable, but that’s not all. They then proceed to sit two people not even seconds later in a booth. Keep in mind there are four other booths open, we are the customers, you do what the costumers want, not what you want. Which is very upsetting because I thought it was first come first serve? Definitely not there. We ordered our food, and when we got it we had asked for some salt and they failed to get that. We sat there for 20 minutes waiting for salt. The guy we asked passed us multiple times helping other people when all we needed was some salt. Maybe get some salt packets? I don’t know, I would assume that every restaurant has salt, especially a RAMEN place. The food was absolutely horrendous. My ramen was still all stuck together and not cooked all way either. Not to mention, my ramen tasted like tap water, the broth was DIS-GUS-TING. We got lemonade too. I couldn’t even drink it without feeling clumps of unmixed sugar crumbs in my mouth. So maybe mix the lemonade before serving it? I thought that was common sense before you decide to serve someone a drink they are paying for with their hard earned money. I would think maybe not once or twice, but THREE times before eating here. A Chinese buffet would be a lot better. Again you would feel a lot better and get a lot more pleasure out yourself if you just throw your money at a homeless individual instead. Do...
Read moreI'm from Japan. I've been trying out different ramen places in the city. I've tried Tonkotsu shoyu ramen, gyoza and bao bun at this restaurant. I usually don't write a review but I really want them to update certain things. That's why I'm writing this.
Raman: High quality noodles, they cooked the noodles perfectly. Chashu, the pork was great! It was thin, so I tasted the seasoning very well, also cooked right. Definitely those 2 things are the best in the city, probably better than normal ramen shops in Japan. However, the SOUP was very bland and disappointing especially because the noddles and the meat were extremely good. It was too oily and not enough depth of flavor, missing umami. This ramen feels like the perfect house that you found in a wrong neighborhood. The ramen has the potential to be the best if they fix the soup. This maybe a personal preference, but I don't want wakame seaweed and corns in Tonkotsu soup.
Gyoza: It looks petty and gyoza itself was good. However, the sauce was just very wrong. It was too sweet. I didn't taste much soy sauce and of course, it's missing the depth of flavor (again). I wish they had soy sauce on the table because I would have enjoyed it more with just plain soy sauce. Gyoza sauce can be a bit sweet, sure (even though it is not authentic to have sugar in gyoza sauce), but not this much. All you need to do is to mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili oil. That's the authentic way to make it. I don't really need much else for the gyoza sauce.
The atmosphere is great. The interior looks cool. The service was fine. The restaurant could be much better. Please make modifications to the ramen soup and the gyoza sauce, then, the ramen could be one of the best ramens in the country in my...
Read moreI normally order through Postmates for delivery but this time I went to the store on the way home to order to go. For some context, I just finished an 11 hour shift and was exhausted so my communication from me was not the best it could have. I was not the best guest a restaurant could want in the sense that I'm not super great with words when I'm tired. They treated me with respect and we're very patient with me which is the main reason I'm writing this review.
When I first walked in around 7:30 they were still busy. The restaurant was very clean, the entire team was moving with a sense of urgency, and while there was a few people in front of me, the line moved so fast that it didn't even feel like I was waiting.
When I ordered my food, I pulled up what I normally order on Postmates and the individuals who assisted me helped me order what I wanted. I ended up going with something different than my usual and ended up with their current #2. The wait was very very short for my food considering how busy they were and it was very nicely packaged for the drive home.
The food, as always, was amazing. They do the best ajitama in this area and it's honestly the number one reason I prefer this shop. The yolk is always perfect and it's like a tiny little blessing. The broth and noodles were delightful as always as was everything else...
