The food here was great. I really loved that burger. But the experience with the front staff ruined it for me.
When I walked in, I saw the woman at the counter yelling for people to come get their cards. After a couple half-hearted tries, she gave up and said, "Well, I tried," which didn’t feel very true.
I ordered two burgers, both with simple substitutions. She repeated both orders back to me wrong, so I had to walk her through each one again. The whole time, she seemed annoyed. No thank you, no eye contact, just attitude.
After placing my order, they swiped my card, but I was never given a receipt or any confirmation. There was no clear indication that I had actually paid. It’s not obvious how their payment system works, and nothing was explained. I didn’t feel comfortable going back to ask, given how rude the staff was. Right now, I only see a $1 charge on my card, so I still don’t even know if I was fully charged.
When the food was ready, the woman who handed it to us didn’t say a word. I said thank you, nothing. I asked for a cup of water, and she looked visibly annoyed, like I was bothering her just by asking.
It doesn’t make sense to have such an unfriendly front-of-house when the food is that good. The place clearly has potential great food, nice atmosphere, probably good drinks too, but the way the staff acted completely killed it for me. I won’t be coming back. I felt like a burden to everyone I interacted with.
It’s a shame. If the front staff were better trained, more respectful, or at least made the process clearer and friendlier, I’d absolutely give this place another shot. But if you can’t handle basic customer service, you shouldn’t be the one dealing...
Read moreSo much hype, so much let down. I am all about a Sunday when it's a fun day! Unfortunately, this was not. Why you get three stars.... -My daiquiri was on point. If you haven't had one of these made of rum, lime, and sugar...I highly recommend. -The fries are the closest I have gotten to McD's fries. -The burger has the chard crispyness and in a 2 drinks down state of bliss, tastes like a 2am hungryness good. Why you missed the other 2 stars... -Waiting. Better bring your bag of patience if coming here. Bartender told us it would be 45minutes just to get the burger. Waiting to get served a drink. Waiting to get asked if we wanted another(which never happened). Waiting for my fries to come. They finally did when my burger was 2/3 gone. You will see in the picture. -Alton Brown must have been high on life when he had that burger. It is not the best burger and quite frankly, I won't be back for another. It was dry, definitely could use a better bun. -Although the bartenders could make a good drink, they stunk at multitasking. We literally sat at the bar. Never once upon walking from one end to the other did they ask anyone at the bar top if they wanted another or is everything okay? It was almost like they were on this, if you want something, you come to me attitude. And maybe something has changed, but since my days of bartending, we weren't allowed to take shots with customers. Yes, I know people want us to, but unless something has changed, it's a no while working. I seen a bartender take shots twice in the time I was there. Which was an hour and half. Bar...
Read moreI was headed to an event at Revel 8 Salon, and on the way in, I saw this perfect bar on the corner. When the event was over, I headed into the bar with my husband and a friend, and we had the best cocktails I've had in the city.
Jazz, our bartender, was quick but intentional with our beverages. He took the time and care of a master craftsman, making beverages I asked for as well as recommending drinks I'd never tried. He even convinced me to drink a cocktail I haven't liked at other places in the past, and I loved it.
My husband and I talked to the owner quite a bit about the inspiration for the restaurant/bar and how much we loved the look and feel of it. That was about before we had the food.
Once the food came out, I was officially a dedicated customer. I'm not sure what all we ate because we asked Jazz to just order whatever was good. There was a cheese board, pork entree, and some other items that all blew us away. (I will post pics.)
They've been open for less than a week, but if they keep this up, they will be part of a great revitalization in their part of the city. I can't...
