I should start by saying if I could give zero stars I sure would.
I'm not a difficult person, but I will NEVER stay here again and I feel i should warm others as to why. This place used to be my go to hotel when I came to OKC, but each year I stay, they go downhill more and more. They stopped having the same eminities and now charge ridiculous prices for things that used to be free, yet they still keep raising the rates higher and higher when other nicer hotels in the same area still have the same eminities for free and only charge the same or less than Wyndham Grand.
I paid over $400 for a two night stay and over $600 for premium concert tickets to see a favorite band. We were very excited for our trip and our stay at what used to be our favorite place. But that was many years ago. For the things I'm about to mention, a steam cleaner isn't $400 it's a fraction of that, but that's too much to ask if this plane apparently. Our FIRST room was disgusting upon entry. We were tired and just ready to check in and relax, but when we walked in the room, the amount of stains and what caused them was way too much to even think of staying in there, so we switched rooms. This was the only time the staff was helpful or tried to make things right. The second room was just as bad, but we were tired and just wanted to get settled. So we just went ahead and stayed in the second room. We probably would've been better off staying in the first room. We might not have gotten what came next. I woke up the next morning and went in the bathroom to take a shower. I took my clothes off to see several red marks on my torso, arms neck and even two on my face. So now, I will have to take my clothes home and take them directly to the washer, jump in the shower immediately, have my car detailed and just hope we didn't take any of the glorious creatures home with us. We told the staff and we're just looked at like we were crazy. No sorry, no what can we do, nothing but a careless look. And don't even get me started on the valet. I asked for my car and they were busy, so I said no problem, I'll wait. Almost an hour later, after I'm told 3 times, they were busy, but someone had left to get my car because the keys were not in the valet room, about 20 minutes after that, we watched 4 of the 5 valet drivers run back up to the valley area from the back of the building with cheshire grins on their faces smelling like weed. One of whom was the guy that we thought went to get our car. Another 30 minutes passes. Now we're late for the event we came for and we didn't even get to go have dinner beforehand because we have no way to get anywhere without my car. So I go inside and speak to the front desk. The lady actually did walk out immediately to talk to them and only then do we find out my keys are STILL IN THE VALET SHACK AND HAVE BEEN THE ENTIRE TIME. NOBODY HAS EVEN LEFT TO GET MY CAR YET! So I get my keys and we take off walking IN THE RAIN to our venue because WE HAVE NO CAR. I'm disabled, so this was not only difficult for me to do, I suffer from debilitating pain when I stand for long periods of time or walk distances. This leaves me hurting so bad by the time we get to our event, we paid almost $700 to go to, I couldn't even enjoy myself. When we get back FROM WALKING BACK, I mention all the fun I had being in pain all night, due to the valet drivers' care fee attitudes, to the girl at the front desk (mind you I was not rude and neither was my friend) but she basically tells me, it's not their problem because the valet is not associated with the hotel's employment, they are a separate business, but she'll take my number and have someone call me. To which I replied, "Well, you have a contract with them and their performance is a reflection on your establishment, so you might as well employ them." I was offered NOTHING. Not even free valet for the day. So as I said before, NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! Save yourself a nasty hassle (and possibly some fun little hitch hikers going...
Read moreWe had a last minute trip and decided to go with this place. Looked good from the photos online. That was about the extent of the (Nice). We recieved our key, went up to our room and immediately the issues arose. Went to put our baby's milk in the refrigerator only to find it not working and previous food still in it! Ground up food all under the desk area from who knows when. The door hamdle on the bedroom completely fell off the 1st time we opened it. We always check the couch and found excessive amounts of previous guests trash behind it as well as in it. The bloody boogers wiped on the walls behind it were also a great addition. The bedrooms lamps worked only when the cords were held just right into the outlets. The remaining outlets in the room did not work either. The main full length blackout curtain in the bedroom were shredded and would not move. Great addition for the 730am sunrise wakeup call! The shower had long black hair all over the floor, nobody in our group has black hair! The shower was more like a bath as the water was 6 inches deep about 2 min into the 1st shower. It would take 20 min to fully drain. We notified the property of all noted issues and were met by "engineering" in our room. I showed him all the issues. He said we will have them fixed before the next guest and continued to leave! No help whatsoever. Front desk said there were no other available rooms to switch to. That was about the extent of any help we received. The elevator states there is a game room, we'll another disappointment, front desk worker stated she's been asking the management to update the info as the gameroom is non existent as of a year ago. Breakfast is the low cost of $25 a person for powdered eggs, we tried this option the 1st morning and we waited 30 min to be acknowledged at the front of restaurant. Kept being told they would be right with us. I guess the other 2 tables in the place was keeping them so busy they couldn't help the 6 groups who were at the front. Everyone ended up walking away and leaving. Long story short. This may have been an exceptional 4*hotel in the 70s but for today's standards at nearly $250 a night i would avoid at all costs. Many other options avaliable within walking distance that would be so much of an upgrade from this 70s themed Turd! Please see photos as I documented all of it.
UPDATE Still no contact from management besides the cut and paste response to the review. We spent spring break here and it was a total disappointment with the lack of management attention. Requested a callback multiple times with no avail. Like I said, cut and paste response from the "GM" is not acceptable. My son came down with Norovirus from this place. Please reconsider if you plan on staying here. Don't waste hard earned $$ and time like we did. Also, we asked for the records on the pool chemical testing, as the water was an alge green color and smelled very pungent. I really think the lack of detail to maintenance of the pool contributed to my son getting sick. I have a feeling there were alot more people who got sick as well. The pool issue can really affect anyone who swims in it. Trust me you don't want to deal with vomiting/diarrhea for 2 weeks from a lack of service. Since the "management" thinks a cut and paste response is acceptable, I'll just give the city health department a call to report potential health and safety issues that arose from...
Read moreThe location of this hotel is great, within a walking distance of Bricktown. I was very excited about staying at this hotel but our stay last Saturday night was not without issues. When I went to speak to the manager Sunday morning about them, she was going to work on getting me a refund (this is how bad the issues were). But I have not heard anything about my refund, nor am I able to get a hold of the hotel directly because when you call the number, you get a recording and if you don't know the extension and select "0", it takes you to reservations which is not onsite and then if they transfer you back you get a useless recording again. So this is the only way I know to get the hotel to possibly reach out to me and let me know the status of my refund. Fingers crossed!
Well, I called and left two messages per the hotel Managers request and I have yet to hear back. I will give this another week, then I will explain my experience and upload my pictures.
I waited another five days to hear back from the hotel manager with no response. So my experience I thought was going to be good because I thought the management would be proactive but to my disappointment, they are not. When we got to our room, it appeared clean, but the couch we had was dirty and one of the cushions was ripped. Not what you'd expect to see at this type of hotel. Then I went to the nightstand to plug in my chargers and there were ants on the nightstand, not a lot but one more than what you'd expect to see on the third floor. I wiped them off, and thought maybe it was a fluke. Since my baby grandson was going to be staying the night with us, I didn't want bug spray sprayed in the room. I didn't say anything to management until the next morning when I saw ants in the bed. Then the blackout curtains would not close completely, so there is a huge spotlight that shines right in the window. While the curtain only had a slit that wouldn't close, it was enough to light up the room. Then the toilet would cycle all night long. Lastly, this room is right next to the ice machine, while I thought this would be noisy, surprisingly it wasn't. However, what was loud, were the people going in and out of the, for lack of a better word, storage room that you can get to from the ice maker area. They were loud enough that I could make out their conversation clearly and they were letting the door slam at 7 am. At this time, I went to speak with management and she was going to call my third party company that I booked with to get me a refund and said they would need to call me, but they have not called nor has the property manager called like he said he would. It gets very exhausting when people don't follow through with what they say they are going to do. After all, your word is one of the only things people can't take away from you, so what kind of person does that make you when you...
