It all started on a spontaneous date night. Wondering where to eat so last minute, I naturally suggested none other than Kluck’s Krispy Chicken, or Kluck’s, as we call it around here. On arrival we were greeted with a menu that substitutes the frills and grandeur for good food that satisfies. My fellow critic, being a first timer got the Original Krispy Chicken Sandwich with fries. I, having been here before and wanting to watch my carb intake, decided to switch it up and get the Sweet and Savory Krispy Chicken Strips with fries. Our food came out in a timely manner considering how busy they were at 7pm on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was electric with the hustle and bustle of people enjoying themselves just as we were. When we received our food we were grace with not 4, but 6 options of sauce. We got the Ranch, Kluckin’ Sauce, Smoked out Mustard, and Smooth “Hottie.” All of which were quite good, especially the last two. My chicken pieces were goated in a delicious mild, yet substantial sauce that included notes of cinnamon, fitting for the changing seasons. Smothered in this sauce, the wonderful and familiar breading, DID lose some of its Krisp, unfortunately. Despite, this setback, the chicken was still quite good and flavorful. The fries were also crispy, basic, and come in substantial proportions. Nothing to rave about, but not much to complain about either. Service was great. My fellow critic accidentally dropped the lid to her cup as she was putting it in the trash. Suddenly, I see none other than a superhero, outfitted with the cape that is the Kluck’s uniform rush over and pick it up to throw it away. Something that seems so easy it’s almost negligible, is no small peril in the eyes of the loyal, hardworking Kluck’s employee. Thank you for great chicken, service, and a wonderful night. Read moreAs a lover of sauce, this place won me over. I’m giving 4 stars only because the chicken felt a little oily and not very flavorful to me, but the fries and sauces were so good. I just wish I got one of the flavored chicken items rather than the original, I think it needed a little more flavor. Price is a little high but the chicken is very fresh and high quality. Loved the house made sauces too, just wish you could get more than 3 per meal. (Get the orangie, you won’t regret it.) I’ll be back to try more!
EDIT: I went back for a sandwich instead of the tenders and was forced to come back to change my review from a 4 to a 5. The only complaint I have now is that the napkins are too thin to handle the aftermath of the beautiful mess of their ultimate spicy chicken sandwich. I’m a big fan of Pretty Bird in SLC, but Kluck’s sandwich might just have them beat. The kluckin’ sauce perfectly complemented the tangy dry rub and the chicken itself was buttery on the inside and had the perfect amount of sweet delicate crunch on the outside. The bun served its purpose well and the fries were hot and crispy. I definitely recommended dining in, it won’t be the same once you drive it home!
All in all, Kluck’s served up a perfect hot chicken sandwich. Zero complaints from me. (I might go for the classic rather than the spicy next time though. Neither my mouth or stomach were prepared...
Read moreThis place is amazing. The staff is so nice when you get inside, I came two days in a row and I’m sure they get a lot of traffic but even still one of the employees recognized me and was so kind. The food is fantastic, first I got chicken bites and then I got a sandwich. The chicken bites were a good kind of spicy and even when I left them out for a while they were still juicy and tender, but the sandwich🤩 The chicken was coated in a slightly spicy sauce that wasn’t too wet and the Cole slaw that comes on it cuts with the heaviness of the chicken in a way that makes eating it so much more enjoyable. I got the curly fries both times, they are perfectly seasoned and cooked. I am a fri fanatic so when I say these fries are now in my top 3 please understand how good they are. Then comes the sauces!!! They have about 12-16 different ones and the 5 that I have tried were all so good I don’t think you can go wrong with them. The “Kluck-in” and the “Smoked Mustard” are both perfect with the fries. The “Smooth Hottie” and the “Korean BBQ” were both fantastic with the chicken bites, but beware the Hottie’s kick it was intense. Then the orange one that I can’t remember was great with the sandwich. I highly highly recommend this place, though it is a little pricey the portions with satisfy even your wallet 😂 I will be going here...
