Unfortunately, this location has massively gone downhill. If you do choose to go here, do yourself a favor and DO NOT PULL FORWARD from the drive-through window without opening your order and personally checking to make sure it is correct and nothing is missing.
I used to come through the drive-through a few times each month and grab dinner for the family on the way home. After getting home twice in a row with missing or wrong items, I realized I had to check through my drive-through order before leaving every time. That worked as long as I remembered to check (it was still wrong about 30% of the time but at least I was still there to get it fixed.)
On the most recent time, I forgot to check before leaving - and when I got home half of the order was missing. I called and asked what they could do to help me out... and instead of offering to refund or discount the order, they told me to just drive back over and pick it up again. For the 30 minute round trip they told me I could have one free cup of sweet and sour sauce. Very disappointing :(
The food is still delicious and the portion size is awesome, but from now on I’ll be going to a different Mo Bettah’s location (none of the others I’ve visited have...
Read moreI love Mo' Bettahs and consider it overall as the best hawaiian chains in the area. I've been to this location several times over the last few years and was surprised to find that I'd never reviewed it!
One of the things I like most about this location is their drive through. It's the perfect location to slip off and on State street and they've always had pretty quick service, so I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to get through the line.
The food here obviously won't be any different from the other locations, but if you've never been then I recommend their "mini" option, which will still be plenty of food for one person. My favorite meat is their steak, but I've tried their other options and it just depends on your preference. Overall, you'll hear that their teriyaki sauce is stellar, so I recommend grabbing one or two extras to really drench your meat and rice. I'm not a huge fan of mac salad either, so I swap that for double rice instead and always need that extra sauce to cover...
Read moreI grew up in Kailua, Hawaii, parents still live there. With recent emergency, late night, hand surgery, my older Kids "Dashed" me some food as l had just returned home. I opened the lid & almost started crying. l began eating with my left hand & clean library card. I couldn't take the time to go get a fork That I would have difficulty with using my left hand. •I am tough with evals on Hawaiian, Plate Lunch food. They must pass the "Waimanalo" test" & No one has until today. The Mo'Bettahs presentation, sauce recipes, meat recipes are all authentic & excellent. The truth is in the Mac salad. So many places get it wrong & It only takes one bite. • Mo'Bettahs is authentic, Hawaiian style, plate lunch, cooked/served FRESH to perfection. The recipes, fresh Ingredients used are obvious, sauce is a "glaze", as it should be, This is the "real mac. salad" & 1 bite Is all it takes! I noted the building photo does not show any other businesses to know exact location. Regardless, I would walk miles if...
