It's very rare that I'm ever craving Tommy's or come to Tommy's but since it's Father's day and they had a bogo special on the burgers and my bf wanted Tommy's, I came to the establishment.
I drove up around 6pm and I was the only one in line, I placed my order.
I ordered one bogo special, one root beer float and an order of chili cheese fries. Nothing complicated or special about it.
(I just told the girl taking my order to add extra mayo on the burgers and no pickles please. ) The girl REPEATED my order than told me to pull up to the window for my total.
As I pulled up, the girl who took my order, was chit chatting with another female worker, I didn't think much and I proceeded to wait untill she acknowledged me.
She than told me my total then I asked her if I can get a regular Pepsi added to my order and she did. She then gave me my total, which was about It was $19 and change.
Then another customer pulled up and she told him if he can hold/give her a second.
She then turns around and continues to talk to the female coworker and made a remark about the customer waiting in the drive through line behind me. (Something along the lines of "oh you know how men are, can't wait, I already told him to wait."
I just sat there flabbergasted that she made that remark knowingly or unknowingly that the drive through window was open and that I heard her remark. (The remark probably isn't much, but it's still rude especially when other customers are around to hear you.)
Her female friend/coworker then takes over the register and she gave me my card back. I asked her if I can have mustard and peppers as she gave me my soda.
Then I wait about five minutes and another fella comes and is about to hand me another soda when I told him "I already have my drink, I just need the root beer float and food.
The second girl comes to the window said that it wasnt part of my order. šš
The guy asked if I still wanted the float and I said "of course!" I then hand her my card once more as she charges me for the float.š
At this point there's already about three cars behind me. Smh.
Honestly, Idk if it was because they were young or what, but wow!!!
I honestly don't see myself coming back, and if I do, it's because my bf loves...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeing a local chain with 34 locations spread across Southern California and Las Vegas, you would think that a fast food joint like this is standing for as long as it has (nearly 80 years) for good reason.
But at least at this location, that does not seem to be the case. I assumed that it was "World Famous" for at least SOME reason, but I was disappointed no matter how I looked at it.
The meal, Double Chili Cheeseburger with all the fixings, fries and a drink was - by a good mile - some of the most disappointing fast food I have ever had. The only thing famous about this place should be the F-tier Hormel Chili in-a-can they splatter onto the already near-inedible excuse for a burger. I can't imagine it being famous for anything other than disappointing people. It's slop that even a pig would think twice about if it entered its feeding trough.
With the brutal honesty out of the way, I'll move on to the good. Of the ingredients on the burger, the pickles were actually pretty solid.
The fries were cooked well, had a nice crisp to them, and were comparable to maybe Wendy's fries. They might've been a tad undersalted, but that probably just varies by batch, so it's not too detrimental.
The service was really good. The staff was helpful, friendly and honest. The food was ready in pretty good time (about a 5 minute wait just after a lunch rush).
The atmosphere was fine. It's a mix between a Johnny Rockets and a Taco Bell. It was fairly clean in the lobby, and nothing was noticeably unorganized.
I do truly wish the food was better here. I went in wanting to like it, and I'm really hoping that it is just this particular location that has such poor food quality. But it was unfortunately enough of a flag for me to never want or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIs a very nice Tommy's in the only one that I know about in Antelope Valley. I went to the one off of Sierra Vista I think it's called. It's very good. I've always liked Tommy's burgers and I was in the mood to get one since I just came up from the valley to come back home. My only complaint is this time I tried the oversized patties and they're just too large for the bun. They were good but they hang over the bun a little bit all around. In the bun sort of collapsed a bit on me as well but that happens sometimes with burgers. But all in all I thought this was a good deal to drive through actually had three or four cars ahead of me and they got through pretty quick. My food was well cooked the fries were good and the drink was nice and cold. I brought it all home and ate it and enjoyed it thoroughly. I also think the pricing is competitive with today's prices. A Big Mac combo will run you 12 or 13 bucks usually and this is only slightly more and you get a real healthy big dose of hamburger patties that are higher in quality and high in protein which is something I'm always looking for. Drive-thru lady was very nice and polite. The location was very clean and I highly suggest this location. Great burger at...
