Second Visit: Still excellent food…but extraordinarily poor service. After getting seated, the waiter spilled one of the waters all over the table and onto my son. They brought the wrong fries with our order and then said they would bring out the right kind only to not get them until I was more than half way through my entree.
Our water and soft drinks were never refilled. They frankly forgot about us once the food was out. Once we were finished and had waited 10-15 minutes with no sign of our server, we had to walk to the bar to ask for our server. Someone else came to the table a few minutes later and said they didn’t know where our server went (like she disappeared after bringing us our food and never came back.).
So he ended up bringing out our check. The proper thing to do would have been to offer up one of the entrees as free, or the drink, or offer a free dessert, but nothing. Just a check and an expectation for a tip.
So disappointing for a place that really does have good food which the PC scene still desperately needs more of. ————- Sammy’s is a great diner. What should you get v stay away from?
Recommendations to get: Chivito Sandwich (best thing we ate) Salmon Salad on quinoa Nachos (weren’t much to look at but were surprisingly good) Sweet Potato Fries and Fry Sauce Fountain Drink (they nail there syrup mixture for Coke Zero) Gluten Free options (so happy with the GF selections)
Avoid: Bacon Cheeseburger (we were excited to try this…But really meh) Regular Fries Carrot Cake
Really stellar service too! Fast...
Read moreSammys Bistro has my #1 sandwich of all time, and I'm very happy to give them a 5/5. Not only the sandwich which I'll talk about, but everything I've had there is top-notch.
I first heard about this place because of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and when I heard about the Chivito Sandwich I had to find out for myself. It's everything and more. First the roasted and sliced pork is juicy and full of flavor. The Hoagie roll is soft and holds great. Then the bacon and egg are a perfect combo with the savory and smokey. What really brings this sandwich together are the spreads and sauces on it. A spicy mayo for the kick and their home-made cilantro poblano sauce. It's super vibrant, very fresh, and a great pairing with the pork and meat. absolutely recommend and I never go to Park City without stopping.
Appetizers are phenomenal as well. The Nachos picture below are packed with meat, toppings, and flavor. They have the Cilantro poblano on those as well, AND a house-made cheese sauce that is insanely flavourful and separates it from any other Nachos. The Shrimp appetizers are awesome, the Coconut and the Bacon Wrapped Texas Prawns. If you have a few extra bucks to get appetizers, you won't be disappointed.
While it is a little on the higher-end scale of pricing, they are all very fair and not overpriced for the flavors and craft you get at all. Don't change anything...
Read moreIt's a small place so expect to wait, a while. After being seated it was about 10 min before someone came to take our order. We ordered 2 starters, cheese fries and 6 wings. We asked if it was possible to have a section of fries left without cheese, we were told it was too busy for that, ok? We also ordered our dinners because I wasn't sure when I was going to see the server again. My wife wanted the chicken lettuce wraps but with out the mushrooms. They said, "NO, it's a mix." For the price you pay here I would have thought they would cut fresh vegetables, Nope! My son and wife are the fries but the wings never came. They brought out the dinners and I asked about the wings. They came back and said I found them they will be out in a little. Dinner is already on the table, I told them it was too late for that. This place is nothing more than a high priced hole into the wall. Very disappointed. My mashed potatoes were cold and they never even refilled our water glasses. My son's chicken quesadilla was the best thing on the table. We could have gone to Taco Bell for that. My wife and daughter had the chicken bowl, meh at best. $91 later Don't...
