I really recommend this place. It seems like hostels are less common in the US than Europe, and also tend to be more expensive. But this place manages to be a very clean, nice, cozy hostel with a kind of “wintry cabin” feel to it - plenty of wooden furniture, the bunk bed frames are wood, large open windows in the common area showing the sky and nearby coniferous trees, big sturdy dining tables, very expansive kitchen that could support cooking large meals for a group comfortably and does not at all have a “gross common kitchen area” feel to it but is very clean, nice spacious lounge area with board games, armchairs, sofas and books; etc. I also like how quiet it is here, but maybe it’s the off-season. Sometimes you can book a bed in a dorm room but there’s no one else there so it’s basically a private room. Check-in is really easy, just pay with Stripe (a good software platform for online payments), and they allow late-night self-check-ins as well. Also, given the average cost of rent in Park City and Salt Lake City, $50 / night in a dorm is actually a reasonable price (but again, maybe I’m here during the off season). I can imagine during a more active season the common area is a fun place for young people to meet and chat and play board games. I don’t know if they allow drinking here, could be fun but loud.

A great option for solo and group travelers.  The staff was awsome, the location is near stores and restaurants and a 10-15 minutes free shuttle ride to the slopes. I was there for 5 days and had a blast despite less than optimal weather and snow conditions. The guests were from all kinds of horizons and the atmosphere was vibrant every mornings and evenings.  I plan on going back next year for sure. One side comment for new travelers to Park City, it took me a couple of days to figure out the free shuttle system. I got lost a couple of times and thanks to the kind and patient bus drivers I eventually found my way home. Not a big deal just a heads-up which can easily be overcome via Google transit.

"Park City Hostel is an excellent place to stay! Conveniently located in the city with bus stops nearby, it’s perfect for exploring the area. The facilities are top-notch, including clean restrooms, a well-equipped common area with a pool table and TV, and a great breakfast to start the day. They also have a separate room for storing ski equipment and lockers for holding your luggage if you're just using the facilities for the day. The staff are incredibly kind and make you feel at home. Highly recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Park City!"

I rented an entire 6 bedroom dorm, for my husband and I (because this room had a window and was only a little bit more than the other dorm without a window). Because of COVID, the rooms are private, which we loved. We decided after booking to invite our friends to come along since we had extra beds. We had two additional people come with us. When we checked in on Jan 23rd, they said they had it marked down for 3 people, but not a problem for the fourth, they just needed to get an extra set of sheets and towels. It was later explained that our reservation showed 3 and not 2 because they need to block off 3 beds to close a room to other reservations. ||||So, the next day, on the 24th, we all went snowboarding and had a great time, and then arrived, exhausted, at our room. As soon as we stepped into our room, we stood at the doorway to take off our boots to not track water/ dirt in, and then a man from the receptionist desk pushed the door open and said, quite loudly, "There are 5 people in here." We were so confused. We said, "No, there are 4 people here." And he said, "Well you need to pay extra for the additional people. $100." We were thrown off guard by his burst in, and were also still confused. He explained that the room is sold by bed, not per room (like I thought), and we still owed them money. I asked why didn't they tell this to us at the check in? He said they just didn't catch it but "lucky he was paying attention." Before I went to pay I checked their site and it does say that, I didn't read the conditions thoroughly enough. So just make sure you are reading very carefully or you may end up paying way more than you expected. While it was very annoying to have someone burst in on us demanding more money, I understand that it was what was owed. What we had an issue with the way it was brought up- unprofessional- it felt very accusatory, like we had to defend ourselves. After we paid he tried to make small talk and ask about the snow conditions, which I felt was an attempt to kind of backtrack on the way he initially approached us, but I was too upset to be in the mood to be cheery and chatty. It completely killed the mood for the rest of the night. ||||Now about the hostel- bathrooms were kept clean, hardly any choices for breakfast (kitchen not really available to use because of COVID) so we ate out for breakfast, was pretty quiet at night, beds not too comfortable, about 5 mins drive from the lifts, there were a lot of people in the common area not wearing masks that were not eating / drinking. ||Would not stay again just based on...

This is the first bad review I have ever written about a business.

Experienced discrimination, racism, and have been personally targeted by supervisors and management. One manager reported he writes the reviews but he has never been there when I was there or gave me any warning or issues before writing negative reviews on Airbnb. Not one single staff is of color and only one hispanic but you couldn’t tell because he looks caucasian and works about 2 days only.

Attempted to stay more than 14 days in a row but it’s not a part of their policy according the site. However, a white gentleman was granted to stay for an entire month during December without problems. The people who have stayed seasons and years have also been reported “white”.

Two of the supervisors who targeted me (Morris and Robert) had the audacity to sit next to me a few times while I cooked and waited to eat my food. Later reported that I left a messy kitchen without evidence and didn’t even attempt to help clean after feeding them. This is a hostel with dozens of people cooking throughout the day yet found time to target me. I asked a manager Robert every night I cooked if he found the kitchen to his liking but clearly they did not report that.

I always brought food for guest and staff to share. After negative reviews about kitchen I started to being cooked food and negative feedback about kitchen continued- even when I did not cook!! I provided food for guest who reported struggling financially.

One night there was a drunk person causing chaos in the second floor. I stepped out of the room many times to see if I found staff or if I needed to call the cops. The next day when I addressed the issue, they gave me an attitude and did not apologize, thank me, or show any concern for my well-being. Charged this person $250 and did not offer a penny for trying to help the situation when management slept sound and safe.

I give more than one star because they have some good staff working there who are more competent than upper...
