I grew up in Salt Lake and have skied for pretty much my entire life. I competed on the US Ski Team in moguls for three years starting in 2006. I recently had my boots fitted by Brian Potempa at Gorsuch in Park City, and he was absolutely stellar. He used technology that seemed like it belonged in the future to digitally scan my foot, and then fit that scan to the inside of my boot with a computer program. The program then told him precisely where and how much to punch my boot, which he did in about 20 minutes. As the saying goes, the boot fits like a glove. The service at Gorsuch is remarkable, and Brian performed a professional custom boot fit that should have taken upwards of four hours in about an hour and a half. I understand that they can use this same technology to fit you into the best possible running shoe or hiking boot, which is pretty awesome! Nothing but good things to say about my experience there!
2018 Update: I needed a few tweaks after the first fitting due to a couple of hot spots. This is a pretty common thing with boot fitting in my experience--it sometimes takes a couple visits before you feel completely dialed in. I currently live in St. Louis, and only ski when I come home for breaks. This year I came back to Brian, and he was able to get my boots completely dialed in--I skied all day every day for the remainder of my break with no discomfort and happy feet at the end of the day. Big thanks to Brian and Gorsuch! Highly...
Read moreForm more than 10 years, my husband and I have browsed and shopped at the Gorsuch men's as well as the women's store in PC. Our experiences at the women's store compared to the men's store are drastically different.
Starting with the men's store. My experience in the men's store whether shopping alone or with my husband has consistently been exceptional; a strong word, yet 100% true and due. Upon entering the men's store, we consistently receive a warm and friendly greeting. Bo, Tim and George make it easy for all --whether they are browsing or shopping, to feel welcome! Their approach is consistently friendly, thoughtful and warm, whether we are there to purchase something pricey, a pair of socks or just browsing. Each of these gentlemen speak to browsers and buyers in a way that leads to an awesome experience that makes you want to come back again and again. Their knowledge of everything in the store is mind blowing! As far as buying or renting equipment the care and dedication to fit you properly is the same - exceptional! The equipment, top shelf; but do not ever worry that you are being lead to spend big. Bo, Tim and George care about the best fit for you!
Sadly, I wish that I can say that we have had positive experiences in the women's store. Look for my review on Gorsuch Women's store in PC in the...
Read moreWorse possible service!! There are many other good options within blocks to buy skis and apparel and receive polite, professional service.
Prior to today, I was a long time customer and bought several skis and tons of clothing from this store and their other locations. Walked in today to buy a pair of skis and boots for my wife at 4:55 PM and was told by their sales person, Bo, that they are unable to help me today and to come back tomorrow. The store closes at 6 PM, there was not a single other customer in the store and we are here a week prior to their busy week. I told him we planned to ski tomorrow and needed gear today or to pickup in the morning, he shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do. At the minimum he could have offered rentals if he was short on time to sell new equipment, but he didn’t. When I told him that means I need to go to another store to buy skis, he then said so be it and reached out to shake my hand and saying he understood. The whole experience was very odd and insulting. I doubt the Gorsuch family would approve this subpar service and allow a customer to walk out...
