Had early dinner today at this restaurant (it’s our first time) and was very disappointed. The food was just ok, mostly bland and lacking in flavor compared to most of the Mexican restaurants we’ve patronized. The menu price for a wet burrito was $15.99 but when the bill came, it was $16.63 — it’s not about the $0.64 difference but clearly, this should’ve been made clear that the menu price isn’t right. And yes, they charged separately for taxes — the $16.63 price didn’t include the tax.
More importantly as we were eating, a cockroach was casually walking back & forth on the floor in front of us. I took a video of this. When we discreetly brought this to their attention, the server walked casually and stepped on the cockroach and picked it up. Then it was just back to business, like it’s nothing new. One other guy approached us and apologized, saying they’ve been in business only for 2 months.
When there’s one roach, there’s at least a number of them somewhere in the same area. I hope they address this seriously. As for coming back to eat here again, that’d be a NO. Reviews are subjective yes, but the roach thing is a deal...
Read moreReally hate to begin the new year for this establishment on this level but we have given business here before, and we have referred a lot of friends and visitors here.
We had an incident with the restaurant recently, I have asked the owner to contact me and I have not gotten a response. I've had the owners son, call me from his personal cell phone and yell at me, but I have not actually had his mother, the actual owner call me. We come in peace, and we would just like to disclose how we felt during our experience, and what we think you could improve with as much kindness as possible.
Especially because we are all in the same community. If I can receive a phone call to handle this matter privately, I'd be very happy to remove this review. Until then, we can't say we are proud to have this establishment in our community, for how terrible the business has it handled amongst us.
I'd also like to make mention that the son of this establishment requested of me to make sure to tell people that the experience was our fault....

$20 for a shrimp cocktail 😤😤 Habaneros Restaurant on 12th Street is waaayyyy better at a reasonable price( $14 ) the staff is friendlier and the overall experience is more enjoyable….
This is simply my experience- I’m sure people with big MONEY are happy to throw their money here but Mariscos La Piedad was a complete...
