Iād include pictures but I already ate the evidence before offering my two cents worth.
We came in around lunchtime (11:30) so we took into consideration how long the donuts have possibly sat in the display. Yes, it looks like a very standard selection. My biggest concern is the fluffiness. I ordered a glazed donut sprinkled with coconut and a cinnamon roll . The donut was not overly glazed and there was just enough sprinkled coconut for a balanced donut. With that said, they need to work on their cinnamon roll. Itās probably the driest one Iāve ever had. I donāt need Cinnabon sticky but the roll itself came unrolled. This is my reason for bumping down a star. Im no connoisseur but I definitely love donuts and getting the basics right is important to building a good foundation.
We had tried two other (unnamed on purpose) places in town but this place by far has been the absolute best-not to mention they are open 24hrs. We donāt live in town (proper) but overall this would be the place I would go for my donuts. Hubby and I donāt need fancy, we just need tasty and worth our time and gas to consider being...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI showed up randomly at 2am today 6/29 because I was visiting a friend in Paso Robles. This place is open 24/7, and it had free parking and decent reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I waited for the only other customers to leave the open window for ordering, and I made my way to make my order. I was greeted by a Filipina with a very positive and friendly vibe, which was peculiar so early in the morning. She offered me cronuts, which just came out and were still warm. I took one and a Gatorade and ate it next to my Mustang. Not lying, but it was probably one of the best pastries Iāve ever tasted, even better than Stanās Donuts in Santa Clara, and also better than my favorite places in Paris and Rome overseas. I went back to the window for more, and the Filipina baker gave me a generous deal for 5 more fresh cronuts, two with strawberry topping. Iām Filipino too, and I felt like I had a memorable connection with the staff and food. This place should be on the bucket list of anybody visiting California. My only regret is not being able to tip much this time. Wish the staff the best and hope to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEhh, donuts are alright - not the best I've had, but not bad. The vibe was pretty on spot for what I was looking for: an old-school, down-and-dirty donut shop, no fancy $4 - $5 instagram donuts on this particular morning. In that regard, the place delivered! I will note, however, that they add a $0.50 credit card surcharge fee on orders under $5 - which I thought was going to be made illegal in CA after July 1, 2024? But then might have gotten walked back at the 11th hour...? Anyway, it's NOT clearly disclosed at this establishment, like it should be. Also, I'll say it was a bit hard to understand the accents of the staff. I'm pretty well traveled and speak a few languages myself and still had a difficult time. I might return if it were the only game in town, but I might want to check out a few other spots in the area to see how...
