May 10, 2025 - Male counter/server was totally rude to me! Unfriendly when he took my order and didn't take my payment. Typically, when I visit a similar type of business, I pay up front then wait for my order. Instead, he directed me to have a seat so I figured I would pay then. Instead yet when he actually brought the order to my table, he just walked away so I said I still haven't paid for my order and he turned around and snapped back at me literally yelling at me "you pay when you're done with your food!!!". Unbelievable! I was so upset that I couldn't finish my meal and had to leave. I also want to point out that it wasn't busy, with just a few seated customers. There was no indication that was noticeable that I was to pay up front, after being served or after my meal - so signage should be more prominent. Possibly Hispanic male with black baseball cap, black t shirt and goatee. Totally rude!!! Despite the courtesy from two female employees, I'm never coming back! Oh and the cheesesteak andn especially the fries I ordered weren't very good either. Posting a photo of the business so that there is no confusion whether or not I'm writing about this spot on South Street, Philadelphia - the only extremely rude person I had to encounter during my solo business trip to the "City of...
Read moreSuper Bowl Sunday, 2025: my family and I were struggling to find a spot to watch the game downtown. Every bar and restaurant in Philadelphia was charging absurd prices just to stand inside for hours leading up to kickoff. It looked like we were out of options.
After hours of searching, we decided to stop for lunch at Mexitalia to make a plan. The food was sensational, and while we were waiting for our meal, the owner, Juan, introduced himself to us and offered to host us for the game. He and his staff set up a tv in the restaurant and catered to us all day.
I have never felt so taken-care-of in a restaurant before. The Mexitalia staff made us feel like we were watching the game at home. They hosted us, fed us more of their amazing food and celebrated with us as the Eagles won the Lombardi.
I will be returning every time I am on South Street to remind myself of one of the best days of my life that Juan and his staff made possible. I cannot thank...
Read moreStopped in this Saturday while out for a bike ride with my wife. Needing some late afternoon lunch, we stopped here by chance, knowing nothing about the place. The guy came to the door to take our order, super nice guy. I got the chicken quesadilla and my wife got the tostados pastor. We found out they opened just a few days ago, during this quarantine mess, they were, again, super nice guys. The quesadilla was awesome, just a good mix of flavors and the cheese was beyond delicious, magical in the words of my wife. The tostados were also great, the pastor was cooked so well. The value for your money was great, you get 3 big tostadas, pancake sized, can't beat it, and the 3 quesadillas were also big enough to fill you up nicely. Definitely will be back here soon,...
