You can order Jim's Cheesesteaks here and avoid the long lines.
Came here for lunch while visiting South Street in Philadelphia. I initially thought about going to Jim's across the street. However, after seeing the line down the street and the limited indoor seating, decided to come to Milkboy, especially since you can order a Jim's Cheesesteak from Milkboy. It was early in the afternoon, so there was plenty of seating.
Came to the upstairs bar area and was immediately greeted by the bartender. She was exceptionally friendly and helpful. She genuinely wanted to know how I enjoyed the cocktails she made. Ordered a few cocktails, Fried Brussels Sprouts, Chicken Cheesesteak, and Jim's South St. Brussels Sprouts arrived within 7 minutes and the Cheesesteaks within 15 minutes, which was much faster than waiting in the line at Jim's. Surprisingly, I actually liked the Chicken Cheesesteak more than the Jim's Cheesesteak. It was juicier and more flavorful. The Jim's was really good, but I preferred the Chicken Cheesesteak. The Brussels Sprouts were very crispy and had a nice char to them.
Overall, I'm glad I came her to MIlkboy as it allowed me to order their Chicken Cheesesteak and also Jim's Cheesesteak from across the street. It wasn't crowded, food and drinks were delicious, and great...
Read moreTexans here, traveling to Philly for the eagles game. We came in this past Saturday when we arrived and weren’t really sure what to expect but it was such a great experience. Our bartender (Aubrey) was awesome and friendly and the music selection was awesome, we ended up coming back again the next day and were happy to see Aubrey was there again. She was our first impression of Philly and honestly she didn’t disappoint as she was super cool and made some really good drinks. We tried to sit upstairs the second day but ended up back down to see Aubrey and listen to the downstairs music. On the menu you can order a Jim’s cheesesteak and they will go get it for you so we did that. Munched out and had amazing vibes. I wish we had something cozy and chill like this place here in San Antonio. I 10/10 recommend coming here when you visit. It’s small but super great local vibes. Can’t wait to come back. Side note: fried pickles here weren’t the best. Breading fell off and it wasn’t the greatest snack. Either way that’s our...
Read moreSigh the night is cold, I am on my way to meet a friend for a Tuesday beer. I walk inside. A table - empty, next to me. You could not have fit a ruler between me and the empty table. A host, to close the gap between the kitchen and me, "do you have a mask?" she says. I glance around at a small room entirely full of people without masks, except him of course. Noticing my disbelief, he adds "once you're at a table you don't need one." I, in continual disbelief, gesturing towards the aforementioned table, ask "well can I have this table?" As if the situation could not get any stranger he utters, "no sir, I need you to put on a mask." Ready to walk out, as a last potential olive branch I explain that I can cover my mouth with my shirt for the literal one step I'd have to take. Digging in, he once again refused. I'm surprised it even took me that long to realize I will never be visiting milkboy again, which is sad because it's a...
