Panda Express — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Upon entering this location, I couldn't even tell where the line began because there's no sign indicating where to stand and people were just randomly walking up to the counter ahead of others who were already there before them. Then there was a long wait due to there being only one employee working behind the counter while the others were in the kitchen just standing around socializing. After waiting over 10 minutes to place my food order, I had to wait an additional 10 minutes just to pay for it because the gentleman behind the counter decided to leave my meal sitting at the prep table while he went to tend to other customers which made absolutely no sense.

The food itself was as flavorless as the mundane lives of those who had prepared it. The fried rice was dry and the beef with broccoli was bland and kind of rubbery. This was basically Chinese food if it was made in a public school cafeteria.

At some point during my meal, I actually heard an employee loudly hocking a loogie in the kitchen (clearing their throat and spitting phlegm basically) which left quite an unsettling feeling. I mean, talk about gross. That was when I immediately decided to dump my tray into the trash and just leave without ever looking back.

This place needs to be either shut down or regularly inspected....

We ended up stopping here because we had a over crowded bus & the bus company was sending another bus. The place is a decent size, and was clean. It can be drafty (it was winter when we went) & when I went it was VERY under staffed & I felt bad for those 2 girls the have to serve the ALL the people that were coming in. I applaud them however because they did a great job & didn't lose their cool/have attitude. The guys in the back (only 2 again) expedited food as fast as they could. The food was good (classic Panda Express) cooked well. The bathroom was clean, you need a code to get in but that's part of why it was clean. I would definitely stop by again if in the area

Only con was that they needed more people because the wait at the time was about 15-20mins before we could give order than still had to wait for...

Store was open, but door was locked with customers inside during normal business hours. Had to wait until an associate unlocked door to be let in. One associate in back cooking, 3 associates up front. One was giving co-workers and customers additude, as if they did not want to be there. One was just standing around. The other seemed to have limited cognitive ability, due to possibly being under the influence; and took a unreasonable amount of time to do any task given. Store was not busy, but it took almost 30 minutes for a doordash order I was picking up to be completed. I would not recommend this location, especially if you are in a rush or on a tight schedule.
