Awful service. I ordered for store pick-up for 10:30am but did not receive it at that time. I placed this order well in advance-definitely over an hour from the pick-up time selected. Once I arrived at 10:28am, I am told my order isn't ready by a gentleman who is working the cash register. I wait 10/15 minutes and still nothing. Another worker appears and begins assisting the register. I ask for a time estimate. Lo and behold, mine for some reason was never even sent to the kitchen. I ask why, and they say that since it was timed there may have been other orders before mine so I was placed on the backburner. Strange-even though mine was for 10:30am pickup. I waited 15 minutes longer-they bring out at least 10 other takeout orders while I still wait. I ask the worker for clarification: "So if I order pick-up at a specific time, is that actually when the kitchen receives it or am I supposed to get my order then?". Now, they are perplexed as they somehow didn't realize it was a scheduled pick-up even with me mentioning this already. They tell me that maybe there were other orders at that same scheduled time and so mine (and only mine, mind you) was put on the backburner. When I do finally get my order, there is no apology. I asked if I could receive a discount or something-and they say no because it's the system's fault, not theirs. But when I say refund, they are quick to oblige to that. Imagine-had that worker never even showed, I probably would have waited there even longer since the first guy never thought to check their system as diligently as the other worker did! I understand you can be busy-but this was a blatant mishap on your part alone, especially considering others were receiving their takeout orders with ease.
Bottom line-your customer service is seriously lacking. Apparently your workers forgot the cute little sign in the front that displays the store's values-some of them being hospitality, being passionately committed and taking accountability. Neither of those values were present during my first ever interaction with your store. Thank you for showing me why I should never order nor dine here. (Not that...

Breakfast tacos came with three corn tortillas filled with scrambled egg, diced fried potato, spicy sauce, cilantro garnish, with small guacamole on the side; a friend and I shared these and, along with our side order of amazing polenta fries, found it all very filling. (I felt it needed more cheese or twice as much side guacamole, but something with more fat to make it more unctiously delicious.)
There are many decadently-sweet variations of pancake or French toast dishes; but my other go-to brunch fave here is eggs Benedict -- also sharable with two halves of English muffin built up with your choice of protein, the requisite Hollandaise and coddled egg. I like it with spinach and ham or smoked salmon.
I also plan to order their half sandwich and soup again on another visit. That "half" is equivalent to whole sandwich in the real world; and their soups change but are each good especially on cold day. A BLATT was great on their always fresh bread. (Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Tomato, Turkey)
The more I read their extensive menu, the more I keep changing my mind what to get.
Great service every time. This location on South has brighter light8ng and decor than the other, moodier locations.
Three blocks from Penn Good Shepherd rehabilitation hospital. Easy to find metered street parking.
Got lucky getting immediate seating going to early lunch, but weekend brunch can involve a (worthwhile) wait. Awkward entrance as they only unlock one of the double doors so you're trying to come in, while others are trying to leave, and those awaiting a table are all crunched together. Not clear why they never unlock that second door.
But, once you shoulder check your way in, nicely spaced tables feel...
Read moreFood is good, hostesses in the front have no personality (no smile or ways of communicating with hospitality), manager nice, waitress and waiters very nice.
Today I went with my grandmother 70yo who has a boot on her foot as she has a broken foot. Upon arrival there was no one else waiting but there always a 20min wait for the next table and all tables were full. I was placed on the wait list and told we could not stand in their door way because it can get crowded and they allow it even though there was no one except us, but we said okay and left. When we got a text about our table we came back and we’re sitting. The table we sat at almost flipped when my grandmother leaned o. It while sitting down because the tables are not sturdy at all. Then I had to watch loads of people being able to stand at the door entrance waiting for their tables for over 15mins while previously myself and my grandmother weren’t allowed. I went up and spoke to the manager who was really nice. She explained that those people knew the owner and regardless of asking them to wait else where they did not. I told her how we were told we couldn’t stay to wait earlier and if we decided to refuse to leave would we have been able to? She said she has addressed this with the owner and nothing has come to it. She apologized. Our waitress was very nice and a waiter says my grandmother about to get up from the seat upon leaving and head her chair and table so it wouldn’t flip which a little lean she does in the table. That was very nice of those two.
I won’t be going back, no hospitality, unfair treatment of some guest, and that food ain’t that great for me to continue going and feeling like I am on an assembly line when giving...
