Lin's Grand Buffet - Metro Center — Restaurant in Phoenix

Wow. This is August 30th. Several of my friends said it was not fair to compare lins buffet at metro center to Pacific buffet metro center. So, I went to harbor today and not good news. Harbor buffet has soggy pizza, best French Fry's, crab is always available and their salmon was very nice. So I had to turn back to lins and found that the waite was negligible. I complained about two things that was really bad. My job is to not let anyone who I am and informing people of places that should be better. Here is a perfect turn around. I complained about their egg rolls were soggy. I am happy to report they were nice and crispy and the flavor was wonderful. Another item I complained about was how dry the salmon was, again they shocked me with moist and a great flavor. I had consumed everything on my first plate when I returned I finally had a drink. So not great service but it is better than last time. Now for the review of harbor seafood directly across from harbor Buffett. I was shocked they said my close were to loose then said it's no teeth then she said I eat to much crab don't come back. The reason I went was because of their crab. That is what hurt Pacific Buffett is they have crab but it's a waite and they don't serve it often so you stand there for 20 minutes and I take a whole plate of crab. This is enough to provide a half of a coffee mug. That's not a lot of crab. Then she said I stink. So I was shocked that they would have this guy in the back say no, no, no he make us go broke. A little humor in everything is what u do. But food to me is important. Tired of checking out restaurants that are bad. I will give you the truth with a little humor with my reviews. I pay and stay secret this is how I write my reviews. Usually there are 98 reviews are from friends and family and other restaurants called lins. They are only 5 months old in this location, so, I would say even with 46 min waits as it is now. I would recommend Pacific with their food is really ok but rarely can get crab. Yet lins is still trying to get it right like the egg rolls we crispy not soggy, the food from Pacific I hate paying $20+ for no crab. You get the largest selection at harbor including unlimited crab. But when I paid this woman was a manager said people said I stink after several others she just have recognized me. She is never upfront. So I told her of my surprise when I took a whole plate of crab. I couldn't help myself. I also noticed that others have a whole plate of crab and they had a coffee mug of butter. A whole plate after breaking them open and fight for 15 minutes getting as much meat as possible in that cup of butter. Then I tested the egg rolls they were crispy and tastefully. The salmon was very moist and the flavor, there were times you have to waite for the crab and hope you can get some but almost everyone gets a plateful so I have no idea why they or the management was upset because I ate to much crab. Well this my first time going to a brand new all you can eat Chinese Buffett. This time I didn’t have my mom with me she was out of state and since, I had a day off I wanted to try Lins Grand Buffet which opened near Metro Center outskirts of the mall and close to the Phoenix metro rail park and ride station. I was wanting to try out when the sign said it was coming soon. It opened in March 7th, the first thing the building is big had alot of parking even though it shares a parking with Longhorn Steakhouse and parking in the back. As you enter the restaurant through the side of near Longhorns Steakhouse side, it is dark but as you enter it is lighted up with lights as you first walk in and have to goto the desk and tell the cashier how many people in the party? and second you pay first depending on Lunch or Dinner. Since, I came in for lunch. Lunch hours are Monday-Friday before 4pm and Dinner is Weekdays after 4pm and all day Sat and Sunday. Drinks are separate price (see pics) not bad $2.99 for drinks !! It does gets busy!! Please be patient when you go up to the cashier, you pay first and they give hostess a receipt and large receipt for what you want for drinks and how many people in your party. Once, you sit down the waitress will take big receipt and you tell them what you are drinking and waitress will get your beverage and napkins. When you are inside it looks amazingly big inside possibly fits more than 175 people at a time, you have the option of tables and booths!! The food buffet their are total of 6 tables ranging from Salads to soup to all different style of Chinese cuisine different style of seafood as well, plus an area for Mongolian grill, witch offers different food selection for grill lovers who like the chef grill your favorite Mongolian steak or chicken, plus a Sushi area as well, plus (2) desert areas one for soft serve ice cream and cakes and cookies and the other side is fresh fruit and flavors of jello and puddings as well as my favorite banana with strawberry sauce. I did enjoy my Hot Green Tea and my dishes I had. Waitress does come and check on you !! The decor is okay I would add like coy pond with fish or an indoor fountain!! I walked in at 10 minutes till 10:00 and Google says they are open till 10:30 and there was no food to choose from! Do not come here late expecting to get any food because they is none! They are even going to be open that late!!! I drove all the way over here to get dinner after having worked at 11 hour shift. I haven’t eaten all day. The manager is in there joking right now and laughing with people as they eat their ice cream walking around the lobby not caring about the food on the buffet it’s all half empty. They advertise that they’d be open and they’re not. I had to walk away with no food. No apologies from anybody. They were all just rude to me. I tried telling the girl out the front counter what happened? She was young stupid and ditzy didn’t even care enough to be concerned about the type of customer service or hospitality that had not been given. I can’t stand people these days. They just hire anybody. If you’re expecting to come here and get something for dinner and get something late, don’t do that because there’s nothing you’re better off going somewhere else. I’m just saying don’t waste your time and drive all the way over here if that’s your expectation you’re better off calling before I came over here and there...
