The Cottage Restaurant — Restaurant in Pigeon Forge

After getting married in Gatlinburg, we brought my whole family to The Cottage for our wedding brunch. We were all riding on a high and starving, all of us being too busy to eat before the celebrations.

So we arrive at The Cottage, get put on a list, and wait 30 minutes outside for our table. Understandable as we were a group of 7.

We walked in to a beautiful restaurant, extremely elegant and matching our high on love vibe. The mimosas menu looked awesome, the food looked and smelled delicious, we were all so excited!

Unfortunately, we sat there for 45 minutes with no glasses or water, while every server made it a point to avoid us, turning their backs on us while we tried to get their attention. I got up and asked the hostess politely to send us a server, on two separate occasions. Then my father tried the hostess as well, assuming they were not taking me serious, but also had no luck.

Eventually, we got tired of it and my whole family got up to leave. On the way out, I demanded to speak to the manager and requested corporate phone number to explain this terrible service.

The manager was the saving grace of this restaurant and experience. She personally walked out to my family with me and apologized while they were getting in the cars and convinced half of us to go back in.

The manager paid for our food and we covered our alcohol. All of which was so friggin good it was hard to remember how terrible we were treated.

I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone trying to celebrate or have good memories. If you are personal friends with the staff, you’ll love the place. But if you’re traveling, with pockets full of discretionary income, I suggest you find another establishment or, at a minimum, order take out cause their service (waiters, waitresses, and bartenders) is...

Even though I'm giving this restaurant a good score my visit today was awful!! Okay, so today I visited this restaurant for the second time because I absolutely loved everything about it the first time I came which was literally two weeks ago. My daughter and I visited two weeks ago and had pretty good service we sat at the bar. And everything was great! Today... a whole different story!! I liked it so much the first time that I told my friend we would go today and talked great about the place. I was so ashamed to have taken her. I hope administration reads this review. Today is Sunday 9/21 we got there around almost 1:00 p.m. (restaurant was not as busy as the first time I went) we sat at the bar and first we were told we couldn't sit where we chose because she still had to clean the bar area..okay .. she didn't use her best tone but completely understood. We sat down and we waited probably..mm..10/15 minutes before she literally put glasses with water in front of us in a very rough way. Then literally threw the straws on the counter and the small plates!! I thought the plates could have been broken the way she slammed them on the counter at the bar! 😲 The couple sitting next to us said the same thing.. made a comment she must be having a bad day! NO EXCUSE!! My friend and I left after such atrocities i don't even think I've been treated like that at a fast food place! I wish I would have gotten her name but I was so disappointed and disgusted at such treatment all I wanted to do was to leave. Which we did! So please check your schedule and your morning shifts for today (Sunday 9/21) and train your staff to work properly and treat customers nicely! She has dark hair pulled back...

As a local & experiencing new places & being my family's second attempt at this establishment. On two occasions. I am HORRIFIED. First encounter was an old lady who was completely rude & snappy not only In her demeanor but watching her just complain in front of guests and family's who are trying to enjoy themselves whether it be tourists or locals. I understand people do get irritated & frustrated being as a business owner myself. SECOND ATTEMPT to come back shame on me. Once again this old lady maybe 60-70 year old server her name may have been Lorraine? Luanne? Lisa? Was serving again, snapping fingers at other servers, the constant complaining & eye rolling. I was quite disgusted to watch this. It was like a train wreck that I could not look away from. How does someone like this work in the serving industry? The table next to us locked eyes & the family next to me asked what is going on here? If I wanted horrible rude service I would just have taken my family To Dicks last resort. I HIGHLY recommend keeping this lady in the BOH this is definitely NOT a face or attitude for the public to see. Desperation for servers is high in this area, I understand that. but you can do WAY better. I did let the host know what was going on, I did not want to make a scene & embarrass this older server as she was already making a fool Of herself in public. Hopefully this situation was addressed. As much money as you are spending in this new establishment on a meal I would expect a nice relaxed environment. Beautiful restaurant BUT.... looks are deceiving when you have a hateful ignorant...
