I visited this location with my 11 and 13 year old daughters during our vacation. Ecstatic about seeing one of my favorite snack stores. I was also excited to show and tell my daughters the history about moon pies. Vanilla and strawberry are the only 2 flavors I eat which the strawberry are hard for me to find in our hometown.
We entered the store and browsed both sides (Moon pies and book) We even took pictures inside the store. I grabbed a box of Strawberry and approached the counter. So excited about seeing the store and visiting. I was ready to ask more questions about it. There were 2 Caucasian cashiers at the counter. The male cashier was near the female cashier while she rung up and chatted with Caucasian female customer.
I approached the counter and gave her my box of strawberry moon pies. After giving me my total I gave her my USAA debit card. She immediately asked for my ID. This baffled me because the previous customer was not asked for hers when she paid with her debit card. I do not mind showing my ID to verify my identity but if you ask one customer make sure you ask all of them no matter what their purchase amount is.
I have several Caucasian friends and they do not act like this. Our children play together very well and have never had an issue with each other or experienced this type of treatment. I pray the cashiers see this and remember us as well as treat everyone the same regardless of their race.
My 13 year old immediately noticed the issue and was upset about it. The behavior of the cashier led us to have a deep conversation about this type of behavior. I hated my daughters witnessed this but glad they were there to see it so they will know how to handle it if they are ever treated like this.
*I will never visit this store or any of their locations again and will make sure I tell my family and...

I enjoyed looking at the items that would be great for gifts like funny kitchen towels or other home decor items, and an array of cute and on trend stickers for the sticker enthusiasts. They had a small selection of jewelry by the register and old timey candy nearby. There were other vintage style things, metal signs featuring classic cars and movies, a selection of toys, t-shirts, and one of my favorite areas was the back corner filled with tons of puzzles for kids and adults. There were puzzles in shapes other than rectangular, like a wolf puzzle in the shape of a wolf and a mermaid in the shape of a mermaid. There were puzzles of crazy patterns, cute animals, Disney movies, books, tv shows, 3D looking images, ones that came in themed packaging, and ones with so many pieces if you want a challenge. There was a 42,000 piece puzzle for $700! Even the box for that thing was massive and very heavy. The finished puzzle would be around 8 feet long! Overall, it's a fun place to stop by and browse the wide range of items especially if you are looking for a gift to take back home or something unique...
