Edit: We have contacted legal councel through the nonprofit that trained my husbands service dog. They are handling it from here on out.
Super 8 at 3280 Parkway in Pegion Forge. (Please note: We had absolutely NO issues with our accommodation or other staff. Just our check in hostest.)
Everything was fine and had pleasant conversation for about 5 minutes as she was checking me in. I had paid online at the time of booking through third party booking. She had already put my card down for "incidentals". I was signing papers and told her we had a service dog. She IMMEDIATELY shook her head no and verbally said "NO, NO PETS!" I then stated "No ma'am she is not a pet, she is a service dog." She then asked "What's it for" I stated "My husband is a disabled veteran and it is his TRAINED SEVERICE DOG for PTSD." She then said "NO, WE DO NOT ALLOW EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMALS!" I said "She is NOT and emotional support animal, she is a TRAINED SERVICE DOG. We have all her papers, her registrations, her tags and my husband's handler ID." (Which is not at all required to have, however, we carry them just in case something like this ever arrives). She had the nerve to state "These can be faked so I do not need to see them. PTSD means it is all in his head therefore it's an emotional support animal not really a service animal. A service animal is a medical necessity not for emotions." I said "NO MA'AM I have everything I need to prove you wrong but you refuse to look at them. You can either refund my money (which I knew booking through third party that this was most likely not an option) or let me speak with a manager. I am done dealing with you about this." At this point my husband comes in and ask what is going on. She then tried to repeat that Victory ( his service dog, which was still in the car with our son and she had not yet observed her behavior) was in fact an emotional support animal and not a service dog and she (Victory) was not allowed per company policy. She then asked my husband why he needed her and he stated it was for PTSD and mentioned his service connected injury. She then decided since she could say it was for medical since he was physically injured while serving our country. This is just unexceptable behavior and company's allow this due to a lack...
Read moreWe stayed at the Super 8 in Pigeon Forge from March 18 through March 20, 2025. It is a great little hotel, great location, wonderful staff, the rooms were very nice, clean, and looked to have street recently renovated. The nightly rate was very reasonable and they offered a small continental breakfast with muffins, danishes, apples, juices, coffee, and water every morning in the front office.
There is some street noise, but it is not too distracting and with the air conditioner/heater/fan running you cannot hear it, but due to the location of the hotel, as with many others on the strip, there will be some street noise for those who may be sensitive to sound.
There are no rooms located on the backside of the hotel so all rooms face the main road.
The tram depot to catch the tram into Dollywood and other locations is almost directly across the street and behind some buildings, so that was very convenient for us as well.
And for those wanting to go to Dollywood, this is a great location, where you can literally go to the tram depot where there is free parking, pay $3 round-trip per person and the tram takes you directly to the front gates at Dollywood and then picks you back up at the front gate and brings you right back to your car at the tram depot.
Not only is it convenient and saves a lot of steps from the parking lots at Dollywood, but is a lot more economical for those wanting to save money.
We got to the tram depot at 10 am, and luckily we were able to get on the first tram due to so many people wanting to get to Dollywood as soon as they opened. We left Dollywood at 7 pm and there was ample room on the tram, but for those who use their scooters, they could only accommodate one scooter at a time on the tram to also accommodate...
Read moreThis hotel has cockroaches. We spent four days at this hotel and on the last day we found cockroaches in our room when moving stuff while packing. We killed one and took it right to the office. I've never found a cockroach and wasn't really sure what to do. Our stuff has been sitting in a room with cockroaches for 4 days.... thankfully the GM was working the desk that day and "seemed" to be very helpful. Giving advice on what to do with our stuff when we got home and apologized for the situation. She offered a partial refund for the trouble and to pay for the exterminator bill if we wanted to protect our home. But she couldn't do that stuff directly because we paid through expedia. She told us we needed to call expedia and gave us her personal number for them to call her directly so she could handle the refund. Expedia got back to us and told us that she offered us a $16 refund. This is for a $600+ hotel stay with cockroaches. I immediately called her back and she seemed confused as to why that was an issue. Then told me she was going to call her boss and call me right back. This was almost 3 weeks ago. We left our suitcases outside for over a week before going through them piece by piece and throwing away anything that couldn't be checked completely, including the suitcases themselves. Might be a little overkill but not taking any chances. Figured others would like a fair warning. I seen the other review that said cockroaches but just assumed it was an angry customer. Guess I should have taken it...
