I would give NO STARS if I could for the experience I have had this weekend here. First, we arrived last night around 8 p.m. and we waited while the clerk talked on the phone for about 15 minutes. After getting checked in we go to our assigned room, 118, and find the air conditioning unit was not working. It was in poor condition with mold on the vent and a broken grid. I immediately went back and told the clerk and after a discussion he came down to check the air conditioning unit. Mind you the fan and motor sounded like they could hardly turn and opporate. He insist that it was supposed to run "quietly" and told us to go out and come back in about a half hour. He told us that he had no more rooms and We could not move. We went out for dinner and a walk on the Parkway for about 2 hours and came back to a hot humid room. I went back and he sent a younger guy to check the unit this time. I states to this other guy, who appeared to be a teenager, that the unit needed to be replaced or we needed to move to another room. The clerk originally lied to us as on my return to the office he was checking in someone who walked in. The clerk and the teenager talked extensively about my situation IN SPANISH! Rude as far as I am concerned, since they both spoke fluent English and they were talking about my situation. We were assigned a different room. That room had a working air conditioning unit albeit dirty and in need of maintenance. After settling in this room, we tried the WI-FI. The WI-FI would not connect on our tablet after multiple tries. The room was dark color walls and carpet, in definite need of cleaning. Pigeon Forge is supposed to be a happy place, so why the drab dark uninvitingng colors. The carpet was not even cut to fit room and was gaping away from wall with dirt bunnies coming out. This harbors dirt and germs! The bathroom had a light with fan included, but no switch to turn the fan on, therefore no bathroom ventilation and no window to open in the bathroom, which I understand is a law. The tub had a slick surface and no bar to hold on to. Also, the tub enclosure, which looked like some type of granite was dirty and stained and in need of cleaning. The shower had low water pressure that made a proper shower difficult , although we managed. On our second day, we returned to our room after a day at Dollywood and wanted to shower before dinner. It was nearly 5:30 and we did not have clean towels and our beds had not been made. I went to the desk and asked the clerk from the day before for towels and wash cloths. He told me he would have to call and see if a housekeeper was available to bring some! Come on now, it's 5:30 should you not have some in the office? This is the poorest experience I have had in...
Read moreI would not even rate this place......i have stayed many times in pigeon ForgeTenn..at many places but not as bad as the Lay bear Inn,Pigeon Forge.......First thing the carpet is filthy....i was wearing flip flops an twice my shoes stuck to the floor,i just walked out of them....we arrived there Monday evening....No Hot water....didn't do any good to tell them...they did nothing...Tuesday morning while we were leaving for the day..I went o the office an told them we needed towels and to please clean my room and change my sheets on my beds....lo and behold when we came back late tuesday evening....there were dirty towels and washcloths still piled up in bathroom floor...i went straight back to the office and ask the man to please come back to my room with me and tell me if they cleaned it......he showed me a piece of paper with room numbers on it... he said when the girls cleaned the rooms they would circle the room numbers and yes my room number was circled but the room had not been touched...well the man came back to the room with me and told me he would contact the girls about this..Wednesday morning i wrote a letter and left it on the bed asking them to please clean my room and put clean sheets on my bed,and as we were leaving we saw the cleaning ladies..so we also told them in person...when we came in wednesday..the room looked cleaned the dirty towels were gone and cleaned one in their place ...my beds were made...but i still had the gut feeling something was not right.....(.i alway carry some extra blankets with me when i go out of town....)..this time it happened to be a purple fuzzy blanket...so i picked some of the fuzy off the blanket and put it at the foot of the bed in between the fitted sheet and the top sheet.......well the first thing i did was turn the sheets down just to see and WOW there was the purple fuz that i had planted there that morning....still on my bottom sheet...so that was proof that the sheets were not clean...all they did was just make up the beds.....I have always wondered how many times that motels and inns and sorts have just left the sheets on the beds from the last people who stayed at this place (where ever it may be)...there was also an awful oder in our room...they had tried to get rid of it with some sort of spray but you could still smell it......we never did get our hot water fixed....while we were there we saw two people just leave because of the condition of the place....the location is good and if they would update some things around there it might be a good place to stay...but i don;t want to ever stay there and it in this condition....and there was holes in the walls in...
Read moreI've stayed in cheaper rooms that were way better. We got a room with two queen beds. The rooms are VERY tiny. If you have small kids this is a nightmare because the beds pretty much touch the walls and there is a very small area between the beds and thats all the room there is. The bathroom is non existent and impossible to give a small child a bath in also for a room with two beds and four people we had one wash rag and two towels..a bit ridiculous . It is loud here. Even at 11:30pm you have people gathering outside to have an argument or conversation whatever it was not thinking twice of who they are bothering. There is no disturb signs to put on the doors so even if you want to sleep in you cant. Wheres this free breakfast at..the office has a desk and thats it and ive been everywhere looking for a lobby and yet to find one. The rooms are VERY dark. There is NO lights in the room, all you have is two dim lit lamps one beside each bed and the bathroom is the same way...one tiny light above toliet..i could barely see to shave my legs. I dont know how many times i alone woke up in my own sweat because the air conditioner didnt come on once for more than about three minutes what seemed like every two hours. AND...if you expect to use the internet here...its not going to happen. I was waiting on a page to load from the time before i got in the shower til the time i went to bed and finally gave up. My kids wanted to watch netflix on the tablet but after a half hour of buffering they gave up. It just doesnt work at all. The rooms have doors that go to another room beside them and you can pretty much hear everything thats going on. We heard all of our neighbors conversations including what show they were watching. My husband just wanted to try somewhere new but just regretted it because we have stayed in way cheaper rooms that were a lot better. I would never stay here again. The rooms seemed clean other than the fact there were two flies in our room when we checked in and it smelled like someone poured a whole bottle of old lady purfume on everything. The tv was a decent size but the desk didnt even have a chair..there were no chairs in the room at all. I did like the two pictures on the wall though, but thats about all it had going for it because even with two beds you only get two pillows for each..thin pillows n it sucks having no support while trying to watch tv and your just screwed if your someone who sleeps on two pillows considering its two per bed and i had to share the bed with my husband so one pillow per person...its just not worth it...find a better place and it will probably be...
