My wife and I stopped by Big Top today (9/4/24) like we usually do during our annual PF/Gatlinburg trip for our birthdays. Ita going to sound like an exaggeration, but this is truly the best arcade in a 50-mile radius. The doors are ALWAYS open. If it's during their business hours, their doors are wide open. If that wasn't inviting enough, meeting Thomas at the front desk always makes us feel like we're family. Again, I'm sure it seems like I'm the king of hyperbole, but this kind man genuinely makes sure we know how glad he is we're there, asks how our day has been, answers every question we have, and has NEVER tried to upsell or convince us to add on additional activities/costs. Today he even made sure I received TWO Birthday Stickers because he wanted to make sure I knew it was my day, that I was worth celebrating, and that everyone else I encountered from then on also knew. Once we started playing, my wife spoke with another gentleman sitting near her at one of the machines. After a few minutes of talking, she learned he (Clarence) was actually the owner of the and had been all the previous years we've been coming time and time again. Clarence proceeded to thank us for coming, asked multiple times if EVERYTHING was satisfactory with our visit, and shared how thankful he was to be a business owner in the area and have a chance to help families make memories and do so without bankrupting them. It was obvious from the beginning that Clarence genuinely cared about us enjoying our time and had zero thought about how much money we'd spent that day. If that wasn't wholesome enough, Clarence made sure to acknowledge and encourage Thomas after we mentioned how amazing he was everytime we came. I apologize for the lengthy review, but this place and the people that work there are something special. I'm not ashamed to say this was all because it was my 37th Birthday. Another item of importance is I have not created any children during those 37 years. So, to recap, my wife and I go to this arcade every year as full-blown, standalone grownups during our Birthday Trip, and the staff (all the way up to the owner) made me feel like a genuine princess complete with multiple stickers, kindness, and a genuine sense of family. If Big Top did all that for me, I can't imagine what they'd do for an actual Birthday Boy/Girl that just turned 10 and wants to have the best birthday extravaganza known to man.
We'll never go anywhere else, and I'm beyond grateful that Thomas and Clarence are just as happy about...

Read moreEdit to previous review: My son left his glasses at one of the games. The next morning we called to see if they were turned in and we were told that they were but broken so they threw them away. I was and am very disappointed they did not even wait 24 hours for a lost (expensive) item to be held, broken or not. As a single mom on a teacher salary, the broken frames would have only cost me $50 because they were insured. Now I am forced to pay $400 to replace them. We even drove there when they said the bags were in the dumpster and I brought gloves to look to find them, yet the trash had already been picked up. Very disappointing there was no lost and found policy. This would have saved me so much money I could have been using for the holidays but now have to replace my son's glasses. Although we had a great time there that night, this is now a horrible memory.
