La Piñata Takos — Restaurant in Portland

Took a walk in the rain today with the hubby and stopped by a food truck we had never tried before! La Pinata Takos makes some great street tacos! I had their shrimp taco, and it really hit the spot. The shrimp was delicious --- not too shrimpy and balanced well with the chipotle sauce they put on it. There were the perfect amounts of cilantro, onion, guacamole, lettuce, and cheese. I also really enjoyed the sauce they gave me on the side! (Please excuse my already squeezed lime. 😅)

My husband ordered their American taco and said he quite enjoyed it as well! He especially liked how they charred their meat all the way through.

The woman running the window was friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. Our food was out quickly, but in enough time that you could tell love/preparation went into it. We will definitely...

My wife has got me going out getting tacos and so far this was one of the best.

The Shrimp was spicy, rich and comforting.

They have little things like their salsa that really brings out almost a pine flavor with the green salsa and the red was like fresh anacho peppers and black pepper that was super refreshing and tasty. The prices are so good please make sure to tip well to keep this place going.

Wait, when did Portland decide they finally wanted flavorful Mexican food!? Damn, this is the first time I've had even a little bit of a tingle of spice in a standard menu item since I've moved here. I've grown accustomed to being disappointed by the bland Mexican food in this town, but dang, this is exactly the burrito I was hoping for. Well seasoned meat, perfectly portioned layers, just a little kick built-in. But then add in some of their Verde sauce, which again actually has flavor and spice to it, amazing!
