UPDATE @ BOTTOM. Wow! One of Portland's hidden gems! Apologies for the wordiness---had to on this one 🤗 We wanted decent sushi so, we dug through reviews and found this strongly rated place. We will have to add our strong review as well. She is so cute!---she's not the fastest but, focuses on quality, and good presentation. Good cuts, proper ingredient preparation, great proportion/ratio, and a super value will bring us back for sure! (For once I can say that the food served was well above the price---instead of the other way around 😁) Our Philadelphia roll included smoked salmon, and it actually tasted like smoked salmon, 🙂 the rainbow rolls are one of the best around, and the salad rolls are great too! Our ticket was $100 and the variety is where our rating is based. If you're in a hurry, call ahead. If your wondering about trying this place, it's strong thumbs up from us! In one word, we'd say "Quality."
UPDATE---pulled rating back for a lack of consistency. This last trip was several of the better rolls. This time around our order was served at room temperature 👎 when handed to us. The varieties of fish were chewy and not cut properly 😟 Dunno why it was so different 😔 and it took a long time. Didn't want to finish two of the rolls 😢. Just surprised so good one visit and not the next. We'll try one more time before removing from our...
Read moreSome of the best sushi I've ever had. We tried the Mizu roll, the shrimp tempera roll, the eel roll, the Oregon roll, plus salmon sashimi and salmon nigiri. We love yellowtail, and the Mizu roll especially was right up our alley. They put their own twist on the shrimp tempera roll which we enjoyed a lot. I recommend the eel roll if you're a fan of eel. The Oregon roll wasn't my favorite of the ones we tried but was still very tasty. Generous cuts of fish for the sashimi and nigiri. The dine-in experience was excellent when we visited in the later afternoon, but slightly claustrophobic inside - seating is very limited so it wouldn't have been possible to do if it had been any busier. I liked that they didn't wait for all the rolls to be ready before starting to serve them. Overall a great value. We've only visited once, but if they can consistently deliver the kind of excellent service we received, they really deserve to...
Read moreSmall sushi spot close by the waterfront. Stopped by for takeout and took about 15 mins or so for order to be ready, which wasn’t bad at all. The restaurant itself is very small and I would not recommend dining in - just order to-go.
The only thing knocking off a star is that, when I asked if they had tamago on their menu (or could prepare it), the lady looked at me like a chicken with its head cut off. Every sushi place I had been to previously had it on their menu and I didn’t think it was too obscure of a question, but I guess I was wrong.
Oh, well. The sushi itself was very good quality and I enjoyed it a lot. I’ll...
