Phil is a horrible, unpleasant bartender. Avoid at all costs. He's so bad that he doesn't announce last call, he just closes the tab. Worse, gMaps lists closing time as midnight but they close at 11pm. One of the attractions of my large crowd was the advertised midnight close time. Even worse yet, when I told Phil that gMaps listed a midnight close time, he just shrugged his shoulders and -- in continuing with his disposition the entire evening -- ensured that I knew that he didn't care and would do nothing about it: "I can't control gMaps." "Actually, you can. You can go on and report the correct times and they'll update it." "I'll pass that on."
When I arrived there was 4 other people in the place, 2 of them with my party, and I happily informed Phil that a crowd was on their way to join us. He didn't care at all. Ten other joined us for a party of 13, and getting his attention to take drink orders was difficult, as the only thing he paid attention to was housekeeping tasks. Never a smile. I learned about the 11pm closing time because I managed to get his attention to order another pint and he informed me that they were closed. The guy who picked up this business tab gave Phil a large undeserved tip. Had I been paying he would have gotten zero.
Other than a remarkably horrible bartender, the place is GREAT. There was another employee there who was delightful. I think she was off the clock, as she sat at the bar. Unlike Phil, she was interested in us and our situation. She insisted on recommending a place a block away that stayed open later. I wish I'd...
Read moreWe tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, will never do that again. We went out of our way to drive here, really out of our way to give it a chance. Our drinks were not served before our meal or with our meal, but into our meal. Instead we were told that our bottled ciders were not chilled and that's why they were not served. So they recommended another cider on tap which cost $1.50 more per drink, but they didn't have the courtesy to tell us before they charged us more. So an establishment such as this cannot have their bottled ciders chilled, ready to go? Really? With all those fancy bottles decorating the wall, they cannot have a bottled cider chilled and ready? Had it been my bar, I would have charged them the price of what we originally ordered if I didn't have the beverage ready to be served. The food was ok. The corned beef with cabbage was not up their with the others we've tried. It was less than average. The fish and chips were ok, the oil, not sure about. I liked the cole slaw and the fries. The service was slow. There was a waitress that went out of her way to help us, and I appreciate that since the other waitress couldn't really sense that we were done and needed the bill. Instead, we had to walk up to pay and mind you, we were not rushing. Again, the service was slow. We would not return. Where is food with soul? Hard to...

Service was so slow we had to check to see if we were wearing our invisible cloaks. Eventually we were given a drink and thought things were looking up, wrong. Did we mention that we were seated at the bar right in front of the bartenders? They walked back and forth behind the bar but refused eye contact. We gave up that strategy and moved to a more direct, “hey, can we get a menu over here?”. We ordered the Irish Nacho appetizer, the bartender gave us 2 small plates and the nachos. When we asked for a fork she seemed surprised and said, “oh, you need a fork?”. We don’t know about you but we like to get utensils and a napkin with our food orders. As the evening continued one patron began clearing empty drink glasses saying he thought he’d help out. At one point a bartender yelled out to a table, “hey your drinks are up here!”. Without having to prompt the bartender we were offered another drink and were willing to give her the benefit of a doubt regarding her service when she walked away and served another couple before she served us, service fail! In summary, we were not overly impressed by the service at Paddy’s. It is a nice looking pub with potential but they definitely need to get different servers or train the ones they already have. If you are fine with feeling invisible this is the...
