If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would. Our first experience with them was fabulous, they have great tasting cakes/cupcakes and did an amazing job on our wedding cake. However when we ordered a birthday cake for our daughter's first birthday, the only thing they got right was the flavor and type of frosting. They had the wrong type of decorations on it and completely left off the 'happy birthday' and her name. We were upset, but let it go because she was only one and wouldn't care. We decided to try again this year and boy was that a mistake. Due to the disaster last year, all I told them we wanted was a 2 layer, chocolate cake with buttercream frosting that was jungle/curious George theme. Easy enough right? Apparently not. When my husband went to pick it up, it was a chocolate and white cake (we wanted just chocolate), fondant frosting (which no one in our family likes), and there was no jungle theme. It was bright blue and yellow. Understandably we were very upset. The owner claimed all she could do was give us a 10% discount if we took it and if we left it we would be out the $75 deposit I had to put down. No offer to replace it with anything more suitable. I told her about our experience last year and how disappointed I was in her customer service and she still wouldn't budge saying because of the work she had put in she had to keep the deposit no matter what. I asked if we could just take it and not have to pay the other $75 that they wanted to for it and she said no, the best she could do was a 10% discount. She is the owner, I thought customer service was important to businesses driven by customers but apparently it is not. And how she, as the owner, didn't do everything she could to make up for the mistakes made is baffling to me. We were read back the order sheet and it had only half of what I had ordered. When I placed the order the girl who took it down repeated it and it was correct then. If she had been willing to let us take the cake for the $75 already paid we would've just let it go. But she kept repeating she couldn't do that. I do not understand how she could not, as the owner, but that apparently is the way she wants to run her business. We are now out $75, have another bad cake memory for our daughter's birthday, and have to scramble at the last minute to find another cake. Needless to say, no matter how tasty the product is, we are never ordering here again. If you don't care if your order is right or like surprises, then I would suggest ordering from here, we however like our orders to be correct and will never patronize this...

Read moreA close friend was having his birthday and told myself & several of his other friends he so wanted a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy themed cake from the Bite Me Bakery in Pueblo. When I called to order this cake 2 months in advanced I was concerned at the confusion & unprofessionalism of the staff answering the phone. One girl never would ever give me her name. Finally put the order in, sent them a picture of the book cover to work off of (per their insistent request), and paid in full. The whole while I was made to feel like I was a great inconvenience to them. Then today the birthday friend sent me a picture of the cake he had picked up: I cried from shock & disappointment. I paid for this?! The overall frosting was NOT the colors of the book cover, it was Smurf Blue with kids glitter thrown on top for the stars. Instead of piping the words/messages onto the cake in buttercream, someone used malformed strips of plain fondant with bad hand writing in edible pen & adhere them to the top. There was supposed to be a towel draped over a corner (a joke from the book) instead an amorphous piece of white fondant was stuck oddly on. Finally, the green colored figure from the book cover was not on the top but instead stuck strangely on the side...and they had dripped blue dye on him. I've now read other reviews from this place & feel a fool seeing others have gone thru similar bad experiences. Mi culpa. Will never order from them again & next year will suggest to my friend we try a different...
