Neptunes Parlour — Restaurant in Raleigh

I normally never play the race card but last night was rediculous and infuriating. If you're a white person you should be fine, the patrons at the bar were nice and friendly HOWEVER the bar tenders, were horrible and racist. On 3 separate occassions I tried to buy drinks and they would not take my order, I stood at the bar for over 30minutes on various occasions, despite the fact that I had given them my card for a tab. Even the patrons were on my side telling the bar tenders to take my order because they kept on passing me up. They would only take my order only when my wife was with me who happens to be white and they would only talk to her. My nonwhite friends had the same experience they were not being served. Unless our white friends ordered for them. When I asked for my card back they said they did not have it and would not look for it. Again my wife came to the rescue and asked in the same polite manner to close out our tap and they gave it to her. We left the bar pist off and will...

I had a pretty good time until after I went outside to leave. I took a picture of the crowd at the front, and then was attacked buy a crowd of girls and one nominal male. One of the girls demanded that I delete the photo. Naturally, I refused. It's perfectly within my rights to take a photo of people in public.

It is not a good photo, and I would not have used it for anything because of its poor quality. But since it shows that I was not taking inappropriate photographs and it shows the image of the young man who grabbed my phone and threw it in the street, I will share it below.

I had a very good time this night up until the weirdness at the end. Your doorman was a perfect gentleman and did his job.

Perfect lil spot for catching small punk and emo music stuff when it's around and the drinks are reasonably priced. Basically the only place in town that still does shows on weeknights. I love to take friends from out of town here to show them the local scene, it's the right mix of punk and casual, never too many people.

This is the kind of place where you have to tip up front on every drink with cash if possible to get good service, if you open a tab they will give you the stink eye all night till you tip, but if you tip good on the first drink they will take care of you all night with a smile. Fair warning, if you do open a tab here it will automatically put a hold on your card for 25$ until you cash out which can be jarring if you only order a 3$ pbr and instantly get a weird notification...
